What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Not tonight, but next week, the first in a 3 part series on cities that defined an age artistically - the first being Vienna in 1908. I'd imagine one of the others must be Paris, either fin de siecle or sometime in the 20s, but dunno about the third. Looks fab, anyway.

In Tom Stoppard's wonderful play Travesties we are in Zurich 1917, where were encamped James Joyce writing Ulysses, the Surrealist, Tristan Tzara, 'writing' cut up poetry and Lenin plotting revolution. Might be a temptation...

Just saw the Season 2 finale of Hannibal. It was superb, brutal and poignant. I wasn't a huge fan of the first series but read good things about the 2nd so completed the first and then gave it a go. It has its flaws, but the finale has left me looking forward to the third series.

watched the first season this summer with the kids... have to say I thought it was utterly dire (as did the kids!) it'd take a lot to make me watch any more!

The first half of season 1 was poor. Trying to do a new storyline every episode meant it lacked depth. In the 2nd they have a more continuous narrative and the characterisation is much more interesting. They still bring new bad guys in but they add to the flow rather than disrupting it. The writing is much better and it's less cartoonish. It has the substance that was lacking in the first but is still stylish, although at times it gets a bit carried away. There was one episode that was like a soft porn Donne Darko! And if that doesn't draw you in, nothing will.

I really fancy that.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

No, the film. Having finished it though, I went onto Facebook and got one of those creepy 'Hi, I'm Facebook, I'm stalking you' adverts which was for the play. I'm v tempted, especially if they're doing the £5 tickets! Really interested to see how they do it.

'That' scene! Horrendous.
Looking forward to Starred Up, heard good things. Have you seen the French prison film A Prophet?

Starred up is great, very much like A Phrophet.

Irreversible is just nuts

I agree that "that" scene is very hard to watch, also the opening scenes are almost as 'dark'.
Starred up is good, and no, I've not seen A Prophet yet, but as you and the General say it's like Starred Up, I shall give it a go.
Also don't watch "I Frankenstein" it's Bollocks!!! And Elysium with Matt Daaaaamon is a bit Meh.

Agreed, but better than Oblivion with cruise and the truly appalling After Earth with the Fresh Prince and his talentless offspring.
That's damning with faint praise for you!

I was going to tape it (how odd does THAT sound now) but sat up and watched it (again). Excellent film.

I saw an interview with A(a)ron Paul who said there was no CGI for any of the car stunts.
