I was on here last week reporting that my eldest lad hadn't got the A-level results needed to get him to university, which was a shame.

Well today, my youngest lad got his GCSE results and I'm happy to report he did very, very well. 12 passes in total.

9A*s and 3As.

Not too shabby. :)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Awesome! Well done, AH Jnr!

Boy genius and to think they said there was the biggest drop in GSCE scores since the qualification began, it certainly didn't effect your lad :D .
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

There might be some truth in that. English was one of the ones he only got an A in.

Not up there with 12 A & A star O Levels, but son #2 leaves Cardiff for London next week. Today was his last day there & the Company bought him & 3 others VIP tickets to the Extreme Sailing Series in Cardiff Bay. Part of a series around the globe state of the art 40-foot catamarans race each other.

The access put him on a boat in the Bay this morning and access onto one of the racing Cats. He was mighty impressed.

Not as impressed as then being aske to be crew on one of them ... in the actual race !!

... they came second. They cut off Sir Ben Ainslie's cat in the final leg. He is mighty, mighty happy with himself tonight.

A very unusual parting gift. An incredible experience.

Wasn't Ben a bit upset about your lad's boat cutting off his cat's leg? :conf:

I'll get my coat

Today about 150-175 miles tomorrow similar. leaving North Yorks for another day probs with an overnight somewhere.
First stop is derwent water where the 617 dambusters squadron spent six weeks prior to the raid training on the Dam there because it resembled the German ones, then Holmfrith via a road where at the top you can see the whole of Yorkshire (West and North) into Huddersfield then back over the pennines

Dear, dear mate. You do shoot yourself in the foot. You have a glorious opportunity to be cultural and mention, Beatrix Potter, Jemima Puddleduck and the Lakeland poets. What do you post about, the fxxxing "Dambusters"....
