Nice place - good food. The menu isn't particularly fussy but what they do they do well.
BTW - I've just read that John Torode's been bigging up a Thai Restaurant on Bridge Street. I didn't know there was one.

The only Thai that I know of on Bridge Street is a little café style place. Relatively knew, I think.

Went to watch The Graveltones at the Underworld in Camden last night.
If you haven't seen them, make the effort. Just superb.

Wow. Simple but brilliant. Had the lamb shank which was amazing. One of the women on our table gave me a couple of pieces from her beef skewer, which were equally tasty. A visit with Mrs BP is in order!Bruce Rioja wrote:Burnden Paddock wrote:The Retreat on Chorley New Road this evening. Anyone been?

I KNOW that's a euphemism. I'm just struggling to work it out.Burnden Paddock wrote:One of the women on our table gave me a couple of pieces from her beef skewer, which were equally tasty.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I knew as it typed that sentence that it would probably come across as a euphemism. If I'd have had to put money on the person to point it out, I would now be quids in!bobo the clown wrote:I KNOW that's a euphemism. Unfortunately not. Probably as well, as it was the second leaving do of the day that I attended. I was already 3 pints of San Miguel to the good when I got there! Been checking out the full menu today and the cocktails will definitely be on the agenda next time!Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah, thought you'd gone there with Mrs BP. Chuffed that you enjoyed it. The Castle Hotel on Oldham St Manc to watch Billy The Kid play a gig. Enjoyed her support set at the Chuck Ragan gig, will be interesting to see how she is on top billing.

Night out in Harrogate last night, very unimpressed. Pretentious and overpriced.
Dan, add it to the list.
