so Mears being blamed and banished to the reserves after 1 game (blackburn away) and dougie telling the press that mears wasn't his idea of a RB and then getting in a RB to play who was shitter than mears . .. no probably not down to dougie

Don't they do Skype on the IoM? I would have thought the cost of a flight would bust our (non-existent) budget.

When ED binned off Megson after the Hull match I saw him lean over to Gartside as the fury at the substitution arose. Gartside carried on looking forward, but nodded. Megson was I believe told to await a call the next morning but not come into the training ground.

The call came telling him the gig was up the next morning. I'm not sure Eddie was anywhere near the actual activity.

I guess the coup-de-gras was that small word spoken in Gartside's ear. I doubt there was much discussion after that.

What a draw that was. Everyone in the ground saw the mistake he'd made and everyone in the ground knew it was exactly the same mistake that he'd made only a few games prior.

McGinley was on GMR today and didn't pull his punches. Very direct about his view that for the past 2 years we've been set out unadventurously and more with an eye not to lose than to give it a go. That it's joyless and us losing fans and the need to switch on the fans, the town and the community again has to be a priority. He is of the view that it's time he went.

He suggested Phil Brown with Roch somewhere around. Not sure that's workable but certainly agree with his first part.

Heard McGinley on GMR, whilst I agree with a bit of what he said, I'd pick him up on 2 points...

1) let's not use Dougie as an excuse for people not going to the reebok/macron. Our home support has been piss poor for years, just look at the attendance vs villa in a semi final when we were flying. I can just imagine people who've not been since we left burnden park, pissed up in super John's pub telling him how they used to go, but not whilst Dougie/Phil is there. Liars
