Dawn of the Planet.of the Apes. Entirely predictable storyline. Ok way to spend a very wet bank holiday, i suppose

Yup. McConaughey is ace. Not convinced Leto was particularly amazing though. Not that he was shit, just a pretty 'easy' role IMO.
Keeping up the Oscar theme, watched Blue Jasmine tonight. Everyone in it, including Blanchett, was good, typically Woody Allen who I normally enjoy but for some reason I didn't quite love it. Can't put my finger on why.
In a world that has decided

Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Becauses she's a dick? Seriously, it's hard to fully enjoy a film when the protagonist is so dislikeable. You can appreciate its merits but never warm to it.Prufrock wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Dallas Buyers Club. Wow!

Finally got round to watching "American Hustle", thought it was decent. Thought Bale was fantastic in it.

Not sure I'll get to see it tonight, but in my bid to watch everything that Mike Leigh's ever made LF are sending me Career Girls. Really looking forward to it too.

Career Girls by Mike Leigh. I'm working my way through his entire works. This is perhaps my favourite so far - and it's up against some outrageously stiff competition!

Please God, no.thebish wrote:watched the lego Movie tonight... surprisingly good fun! I'd probably watch it again!
Had to go and see it when it came out, nodded off midway through. Had to buy the bloody thing (but managed to avoid re-seeing it), THEN, IT WAS ON THE PLANE ON THE WAY OUT TO HOLIDAY.
Freaking everything is awesome, ear mite burrowing for 8 sodding hours.
I think it's probably the most truly awful 90 minute advertisement I've ever seen.

The Lego Movie IS awesome! I've seen a lot of movies this year and it's easily in my Top 10.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
It's very inventive and well done but ultimately very irritating. Seen it twice with my obsessed 7 yr old nephew. Frozen was much better, Epic good as well. Turbo was shite. He likes his films so I see a fair few.
