I was wrong to very much want to leave Wembley after going 2-0 down to Reading in '94 and conceding a penalty

A 16 year old me was convinced to stay though by my Pops when he uttered the immortal line

"He'll save this, cocker"
Pfffft.

I tell you, Zico, and sorry for bucking the trend of the thread, but in my 40 years of watching this wretched game I've only ever had this absolutely undeniable feeling of utter certainty on the outcome of a specific occurrence. The first was that Branny would save that penalty and the second was Beckham's free kick against Greece. Weird.
May the bridges I burn light your way

And those are the moments that we pass on from generation to generation. :)

At Wembley about 10 minutes before kick-off.

:hang:
I thought the same too, LGM, and could have been printed in the Telegraph as saying so (last three pars here), but thankfully either Jim White or the subs desk opted not to use my prediction of a 3-1 win... :(
