Yeah, but he'll be gone just after Christmas, and that's only if he lasts the course.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Oooh. Gary gets a signing on day 2

Bit too busy to check but ISTR Garvan is more of an attacking midfielder (No.10?) - could be another option, esp with Trotter out
Any idea when Mark Bloody Davies is back?

I'm sure I saw a headline on NewsNow saying Mavies is back. I didn't click, so I suppose that could mean back on the treatment tableDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Bit too busy to check but ISTR Garvan is more of an attacking midfielder (No.10?) - could be another option, esp with Trotter out

Yeay - Having Mavies back is like signing a new player.

Booo - Having Moxey back is like playing with 10 men.

That's from the official Twitter, by the way.
Decent signing IMO....apparently he's a decent passer of a ball, gets forward & and is creative.....which is what the side desperately needs (along with a striker who can actually score goals on a regular basis)
Saying that though under Freedman he'll become yet another holding midfielder within a week, told not to get too far forward and only have one shot per match.

His knack's spreading. Maybe it's gangrene.
Nice to see PT welcoming a signing, like him I hope Garvan can help while also fearing he might not...

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan on a three-month loan deal.
A former Republic of Ireland U21s international, the 26-year-old helped Palace win promotion to the Premier League in 2013, playing 84 minutes of their Play-Off Final victory over Watford at Wembley.
Heading straight into first team squad for this weekend’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday, Garvan will be eligible to play in all of the Whites’ Championship fixtures for the duration of the deal.
However, the midfielder is ineligible to feature in the Capital One Cup for Bolton, having come off the bench in Palace’s 3-0 victory over Walsall in the second round.
He has been handed the number 19 shirt for the duration of his stay at BL6.

The official website always using 'at BL6' like we're SW19 or something.

Re: Rumour has it.............
Read a bit about Garvan last time we were after him and he sounds decent, but it makes no difference to my general mood of doom. I'll start to get excited if we get into the top ten on the back of a decent run. Or when we score a goal (for a bit).

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

BL6 is though. I have my second home there.Lord Kangana wrote:Is Sheffield Wednesday special or something?Athers wrote:The official website always using 'at BL6' like we're SW19 or something.
For some people it's Spain, for others Cyprus, Greece, the Algarve, France. For me ... Horwich.

Its using BL6 rather than 'The Macron' i think.
Dunno much about Garvan. Cant rely on Mark Davies to be fit. And not comfortable with trotter or pratley behind a striker. A sign we will go back to one up top?
