When was the last time we had a squad this poor?

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

True enough, but ain't that one of the rules in any walk of life - When business is not going well don't get caught by the paying customer looking like you don't give a toss?

Well it's not like a bank clerk openly having a brew when there is a massive queue. He was officially on holiday, rightly or wrongly. He'll be OK anyway, folk will prefer booing Beckford.
Suspect you're right on this...if there is a queue to be heckled at the Macron, Spearing is still somewhere towards the back of it. (Personally, don't like booing our own, anyway. Seems counter-productive. Can't see how booing a player motivates him - or his team mates - to play better.)
Your main problem here is that you're assuming intelligence in the crowd.
Bizarrely (and I think I got this from William the White) back in the Premier League days, BWFC fans were simultaneously the poorest and had the highest proportion of graduates (hmmm...maybe this site echoes both of those stats?)

Think that was true of our first-ever PL season, 95/96 - not sure if it has been since. Think Wimbledon were second-highest in the graduate list...

Yeah, well as we all know ... there's graduates and then there's graduates !!

(why is there no 'shit-stirring' emoticon ??)
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

But I'm earning sufficient to pay someone more gifted in such an area - not pissing and moaning that I have a useless degree and no money. ;)

There's no such thing as a useless degree...even if it only makes you a world class pisser and moaner.
