I refuse to call it "rest of" fecking anything - we have something called United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, if the Scots leave, it will still be called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as far as I know.

It will just be a bit smaller, by 1 * Scotland.

Well, having listened to both sides of the debate now I've concluded that anyone voting 'Yes' must be away with the fecking fairies. They can't possibly have any idea what they're letting themselves in for - and all I here from Salmond and his retinue of rabble rousers is negativity towards the 'No' campaign and various conspiracy theories. Yes, I understand all the Braveheart bravado but surely that isn't enough for any sensible human being to vote their country into an abyss from which there's no return. Like him or not, Cameron spelled out quite clearly last night all that will be forfeited. I mean, good luck to 'em if that's the route that they choose to go down, I just can't for the life of me see why they might.

lots of things irritate me about this endless campaigning... but for today - these two:

1) EVERY issue raised by the NO campaign about how Scotland might be worse off Independent is instantly labelled as a SCARE STORY by the YES campaign... yet - the WHOLE no campaign is based on the idea that scotland would be worse off as part of the UK - why is THAT not "scare story"??

2) this has been raised a few times on the angry thread - often about climate change - but - MEDIA BALANCE!! Yesterday in my car I heard them interview an internationally renowned expert in International Treaty Law - a proper expert. He had a lot to say about how Scotland would actually srtruggle to find a way into the EU... BUT - because he has (in the past) said he leans towards the no campaign - they felt it necessary to "balance" the debate - so they gave equal airtime on the issue to a woman whose first comment was "Obviously I'm not a lawyer and I don't know much about the finer points of International Treaties...." she then went on to reassure us that it would all be OK and Scotland should be brave and take it as it comes because "democracy is messy" lke childbirth - but it'll be fine....

Oh, and after Cameron's speech last night 5 Live went over to a guy from the Yes campaign for his considered counterpoints, who just sneeringly remarked that Cameron's remarks were nothing other than "Millionaire manure and Bullingdon bull". Well done that man.

My Scottish Mrs was in tears last night as her frustration with the whole thing came to a point. She's upset she has no say in the future of her country, yet any Johnny Come Lately can. A large number of her family are in the Yes crowd and has had enough of the crap they bleat on about, often in complete ignorance. She feels bullied by them and is at the point of never wanting to see them again.

I'm fairly angry as if they do stay, then without consultation, it seems Scotland will get extra powers that I can only see being to the detriment to other parts of the UK. Rather than pandering to Scotland, how about coming up something for the good of the UK.

Just been on a mini tour of Scotland and what I can gather is that people are staying aloud they vote yes but will acually be voting no. The reason being is that this way they avoid the grief from the gobshite yessers.

I see a lot of people toying with Yes but deciding late on to continue with the status quo because they mistrust the unknown.
A bit like people sticking with Thatcher over Kinnock when the polls had suggested otherwise.
I'm going for 55-45 in favour of No. Any other predictions?
