Bolton are killing me..........
Bought Bolton´s points on the spreads at 63 at the start of the season. It´s costing me a packet. Give me some optimism please. Anything.

Re: Bolton are killing me..........
I can give you some hope.
My mate was an inveterate gambler until he dropped 42k at Cheltenham this year. Until then he was well out of pocket (and I don't think he's recovered all he spent with this win). He only had to wait 54 years of his life to do it. So you've always got hope....it might just be a while coming (or not at all).
Social Services should be able to offer you councilling - I suspect this would be free, given the nature of the bet you've laid.

If you buy, you're betting to be above the number given (63 points) - if you sell on a spread, you're betting to be below the number given (63 points)Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh, right. That explains it then.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:You did what, sorry?![]()

The amount you win/lose is the difference between the actual points and the spread @ 63.
If we got more than 63 points - LOLZ - OP would win. so if we had 67 points he'd win 4 times his stake (67 - 63 = 4 * £10 stake = £40)
If we get below 63 points - say 25 points - quite possible - then he'd lose 63 - 25 = 38 * £10 stake = £380.
Easiest way to try an get out of this is to actually lay your spread the other way to try and cover your losses... (but the market will probably have moved downwards a lot since it was set at 63.

Ah, cheers, Worthy. So, in short, a fool and his money are about to be parted. We got there.
However, stick around, DDA Drug Bar. We share much pain and misery on here. You're amongst your own.

I feel for you. You may be about to lose a lot of money. The club appears to be so skint - fittingly enough because it gambled - that it seems it would be happy to just about finish above relegation, which is usually a points total in the high-40s. There are some who suspect that even if we are obviously going to fall below that total the club may be unable or unwilling to do anything about it.
Your bet's best hope may be that Dougie Freedman leaves before his contract's up next summer, but he appears to be digging in and the board seem in no rush to get shut.
Your best bet may be Gambler's Anonymous... you need never be alone.
Good luck, for all our sakes...

I trust all my finances to rotating disembodied heads of Cockney character actors and verbose verminous creatures of the scrub lands of Africa.
It's the only sensible thing to do these days.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Ray Winstone is indeed a Cockney character actor. "What roles can you play? "A Cockney character."

So, if we are truly poor he owes MORE ? How do they get that from him ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

20 quid a point too. What was I thinking? Your first win will prob be next wed against my mob. I actually saw Rotherham beat us 6.0 in the eighties. Time to close out the bet and take a huge hit.

Hail Joe Mason! Just looked him up. His mother was born in County Mayo in Ireland. Same place both my mum and dad were born and raised. Is this a sign that Bolton's and my fortunes are changing?
