Their goalie tackled Lonergan? What have I missed?

Last minute corner to them. Their goalie, about 9'-6" tall flattened Lonergan and got a yellow. Should have been a red.HMX wrote:Their goalie tackled Lonergan? What have I missed?

Re: Trouble in't Mill
Very good game that, still work to do but served the win. Convinced there a decent team to be made from that squad if this feck* wasn't in charge.
Mark Davies was a class apart, ran everything. Chungy also very good when he got on. Pratley was clueless and Danns ineffective, bringing the wide players on made a big difference and stretched them. Feeney is a basically a brainless sprinter but he means well, bless him. Could have screwed his neck when he cocked up that cross late on, should have been a a tap in for Cravies who deserved a goal.
In defence Dervite played very well and Moxey looked like a proper player which was good to see.
Spearing needs dropping and Medo giving a run with Mavies IMO. He's poor on the ball and spends all his time gesticulating and bitching at people who are actually playing better than him.
Mason could have 6, all clear chances, but 3 will do, great to see a Bolton player getting a hattrick again.
Let's see if Dougie can avoid ballsing it up at Wolves now.

Anybody there tonight was surely entertained if nothing else? Their manager was far from amused..officer_dibble wrote:3-2 to you...

Great game. I'm exhausted and I only watched a stream. I haven't been that involved emotionally in a Bolton game for a long while, perhaps not since Blackpool. We played a lot better than we did against Wednesday, but of course it all comes down to whether we can keep it going. Chungy did really well when he came on. Mason, great hat trick. Could easily have got four or five as well. Looked like a fantastic game to go to, with the Rotherham fans really adding a lot to it, especially when they thought they'd scored a third. Steve Evans going a bit mental on the touchline as well.

Well, I was out and in Brick Lane actually forgot the game was on
I then saw some Facebook comment about us losing so pleasingly surprised and happy to see the result. Maybe most pleasing is that it suggests some spirit was shown.
Good, it's a start.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Sensible time.
A great win in an entertaining game, both sides had chances to win it, although I believe we were better over all.
I am pleased with the spirit shown in coming back from a goal behind, the half time team talk obviously did some good. Backs to the wall and we have a committed performance, what more could a fan want?
It's a start, that is all it is, but this sort of game is why we like football. It's the reason I watch football anyway, I wish more of them were like this.
Great game tonight and really enjoyed it. Well done Duggie and the super whites. Well done to Rotherham in being part of a game I thoroughly enjoyed.

Re: Trouble in't Mill
First half not good, but agony alleviated a little by the sight of Mark Davies starting to run the game. he tired, understandably, and drifted out of it, but still looked the best player on the pitch.
Mason hat trick very, very satisfying - and followed by two missed chances in injury time - one of which was an absolute sitter.
We panicked as soon as we took the lead, and allowed them back to 2-2 with abysmal defending.
We are far from the real thing. but we won, and probably just about deserved it. And Bobic since the last Bolton hat trick, so nice to salute a Bolton landmark. More than happy!

Re: Trouble in't Mill
Pretty much sums it up although I thought Spearing played OK tonight. I'm not Mason and Cravies play as a team and until late on there was very little movement from either. My personal opinion is:LeverEnd wrote:Very good game that, still work to do but served the win. Convinced there a decent team to be made from that squad if this feck wasn't in charge.

Lonergan - Didn't have too many saves to make. Wish he would be more positive coming for the crosses - 6
Ream - Don't like him at right back but defended OK. Hid a little bit when he should have been looking for the short ball from the keeper - 6
Mills & Dervite - OK the pair of them. Neither fully comfortable and were under pressure from their forwards - 6
Moxey - He have a pretty good game to be fair. Got further forward in the second half but barely crosses the half way line in the first. When he did get forward and we lost possession disappointingly he just jogged back in to position without any urgency - 6
Spearing - Played pretty well I thought. Broke up play and his passing was better than of late - 7
Mavies - Played well and although not yet 100% fit he is the class player in the side - 8
Danns - A couple of long range chances. I was hoping for better - 6
Pratley - Didn't do too much but ran around a bit - 5
Mason - Scored 3 but should have had at least 5. The one with only a couple of minutes to go was the easiest of the lot - 8
Cravies - Worked hard and held up ball pretty well. Not really much of a goal threat and not enough movement when our midfielders have the ball - 6
Subs
Chungy - Probably best as a super sub. Created a good chance for Mason late on - 7
Feeney - Added the necessary pace and urgency that we had missed earlier in the game. Should have crossed for Cravies late on when he was in acres of space - 6
Medo - Not really had enough time to rate him.
The 4-1-3-2 formation didn't really work. Not enough width or urgency. When Dougie brought on the two wide men it changed the game. Not sure if it was the change of formation to a 4-4-2 or just the fact Pratley and Danns went off.
Overall an entertaining game with lots of goals. We just about deserved the win although we do look shaky at the back and will concede plenty this season.

Nice work, pleased for you.
Re: Trouble in't Mill
Was at the game tonight. I thought the team clicked into place when Chungy & Feeney came on. Suddenly we started getting into scoring positions. Mason could have had 2 hat tricks.
Now we have a plan, and a bit of confidence, I insist that Freedman keeps the same team next game. But he won't, useless tit. He'll play Mason up front on his own, and he'll hardly get a touch.
Was disappointed with Danns, he was strangely quiet tonight. Pratley did nowt. Mavies was top class. Spearing still struggling for form, DF should give Medo a run out instead.
Our defence looked like conceding every time Rotherham put pressure on us, we need McNaughton, Wheater and Tierney back.

Re: Trouble in't Mill
Wonderful to experience a win, but that defence is fecking shocking. Tell you something I saw for the first time ever tonight too. Our wall on their first goal is so shockingly out of position that a left footed player manages to curl a ball away from the wall, not around it, and into the keeper's bottom left hand corner. Ream had one of his worst games ever, and that's saying something. Mills is just a pub league clogger with a stupid beard. Moxey had his best game yet and was still dreadful, That Dervite boy though, he looks alright to me, he does.
May the bridges I burn light your way
