He'll be sacked at some point between now and the end of the year!

I'm not going to a game until the atmosphere gets better and that probably won't happen until DF goes. I wish the atmosphere was better, and I think if it was we might actually get more points. But, I'm obviously pishing into the wind so a change is inevitable at some point if things carry on like this.

For me the current predicament is all about whoever it is that hires and fires. One can't really put up banners saying "ED out!" so the only thing people feel they can do is out at the players/manager during a match.

It looks like DF is doing about the same as he did at Palace, there's no evidence to say he lied his way into a job. Not his fault for not wanting his staff to lose their jobs.

Whoever we get next time please please please just a temporary half-a-season contract or a season-and-a-half contract please. This is the third manager in a row who we've had trouble with after the first year or so (if not before) after they did ok for their first part of a season. If it has to be a three year contract please put some clauses in there, y'know like Man Utd did with Moyes and probably have with Van Gall.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

He's certainly overplaying how good Derby are. There was nothing in it for the first 20-25 mins then we let them play and gave them an easy day. Also that statement about trying to out-football them smacks of claiming to be a perfectionist when asked what your greatest weakness is in an interview. Like players being guilty of trying too hard when they've been shite.

I suspect we won't be able to afford a proven alternative like Mckay, Pulis or Mcdermot. It'll be Flitcroft from Bury.

Unfortunately, I think even Flitcroft is out of reach. He's doing very well at Bury

If we're as skint as Dougie keeps telling us we are, then it can't be anyone currently in a job, where compo would be due for them and their entourage. Telling Dougie and co to stay at home until June and promote David Lee and/or Jimmy Phillips wont cost us owt.

We're going down as it is, so it's worth a go imo

Its a shambles. Gartsides taking the club full circle abd beyond from when he came on board. He's a wanker for not jacking it in before the job became too much.

I now hold little blame against freedman. He wants out it is clear - just wants his cash. Fair enough. Its the mismanagement of eddies assetts by gartside to blame. Wanker.

at a wide, long, tendon tearing stretch I can just about think of Jimmy P as a manager.

David Lee I can only just compute as a coach.

The thought of either of them in the position we are in at the moment is one i would beat from my brain frantically until it went away limping never to return.

But what's the alternative if you/we want Dougie out before the seasons end?

We cant afford to pay the compensation for DF, LL, & Co if we let them go now. In addition, we cant afford to then take on say, Brian McDermott & a whole new enoturage at the same time.

You can only just think of Jimmy P as a (caretaker) manager? Is that because he's done it before?

Listening to him after the game he sounded like a broken man.

Good.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

I guess even he's not believing his own outpourings now. It's been said that sacking him would be a kindness. I think in many other walks of live he be off work with a stressie.

Can you imagine Euxton today? A lot of tub-thumping, shouts of "yeah" and confirming to each other that it's just that bit of luck we're missing .... until he's out of earshot when the conversation turns to "have you seen the state of him ?", "who's your bet for the next guy then ?", "what sort of team was that on Saturday ", "why am I here if he's going to play me up front on my own ?" and "Go on then ... what DOES Lennie actually do ?"

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Things must be bad....had a chat yesterday with a Bolton fan mate of mine and he says "he's disappointed they missed out on Warnock when they had the chance...."

Jimmy and david lee are not even that great at doing their current jobs. Management? No thanks.

I'd go for neil redfearn if he wasnt on such a good number - if its bringing for youth that is our hope!

Although I wouldn't want him in the seat forever, last time he was caretaker Jiminho got a win and a draw - a better hit-rate than the incumbent. (Alright, he was technically also in charge for the subsequent loss at Boro, but that was after Freedman had been appointed - and that's still four points from three games, as opposed to the five from nine games so far this season.)

Be intriguing to see the reaction from the away 400 at Fulham. It's a long way to go to boo, but equally if you go that far and you're inclined to, you might not stand on ceremony.

Any manager has a method of how he thinks a club and a team should be organised in order to produce results. Often it takes time to organise matters on the field and off before he has that organisation in place and during such a transitional period the manager can use the excuse of "work in progress" (although it is interesting that the best managers need very little time to make a real and lasting impact). But what happens when a manager makes all of the changes he wants and uses every medicine in his bag and things only get worse? Looking from the outside DF has reached that point now. There is nothing else he can change and he has nothing else up his sleeve. The club are in a worse position in every way than it was when he was appointed and I agree with those who have said that on Saturday he sounded like a broken man in his post match interview, broken in that he now has no idea how to fix this. When he said that the job was harder than he thought, he meant, "I no longer believe I know what I'm doing". Working hard is the answer to some problems, but when you've been digging yourself into a hole for two years, digging harder is not the answer.

I don't think the club's worse in every way; bad as it is now, it was also fairly chaotic before he came in. But the main way it's better is that we're shorn of some big earners. In some ways DF reminds me of John McGovern but less likeable.

As you say, it feels like he's tried all he can and nothing's working. And let's not forget that under McGovern, for all his efforts, we went down to the Third.

I'd expect close to half will be Cockerknee whites. Generally refined, educated, not seeing Bolton all that often ... plus Pru. They may be amazed by our usual 15 minutes decent football and the absolute tosh which follows, and our lack of fight. Seeing it before your eyes is quite different than reading about it.

The first impact is normally stunned silence, disbelief and shaking of heads whilst muttering quietly "I knew it was bad, but ...".
