We're not looking at anyone who's currently in gainful (I guess that means as a football manager).
We're looking to interview 4 (but have a much longer list to narrow down)
Seems to be suggesting that MacKay, Hughton, Lennon all in the frame (McDermoot and Hill not).
It will be resolved before the next game we play.

Wow. I can't wait to go and buy tomorrows #SuperSoarawaySun. to read the article (if it makes it) :-)
I guess the not looking at anyone who's currently in gainful is so we don't have to pay any compo.

It's a shame if McDermott has said he's not interested. I hope to hell he isn't and we've kicked him off the pile !

Mackay has an air of current controversy. I hope that's in their thinking at least. Personally I'd prefer to avoid that though he's a decent enough manager.

Hughton and Lennon offer something. Lennon concerns me as he makes Allardyce at his post narrow defeat worst seem like a pussy cat.

But all of them have more about them than the last chancer.
Agreed on Lennon. Seems really switched on when I've seen him as a pundit and I wouldn't be totally against him but there's a risk it could go nuclear!
I can't say I'd be thrilled by the prospect of Lennon, but you have to say, he'd handle the pressure, given he's had bullets through the post etc....
Aye, but has he ever been severely tutted at from the West Stand Lower? Bullets? Pffft.
Stop Press: Lenin seeks assistant willing to take a tut for him (he'll do his own bullet-dodging).

Everyone seems to be moving out in the betting this morning - perhaps they've seen our Accounts.

Apart from Tony Mowbray and Steve Clarke... <Gulp> on #1...and not at all sure about #2

Iles' BN piece saying we're open-minded...
Wanderers are basing their search on a number of criteria, weighing up the need for a manager with experience of the Championship against someone with the knowledge of the club and its particular nuances. Finances will also play a major part with any prospective manager unlikely to be given much wiggle room in the transfer market. That could also count against pursuing a manager already in a post – although the club are keeping all options open for now.
Also some interesting quotes from Ream.

It's good that players keep honest and don't start saying different things today than they would have done on Thursday.

However, I recall the exact same things being said when Coyle left and Freedman came in. Probably the same when Megson left though I don't recall.

Well someone maybe should actually tell us what all this 'behind the scenes' shite is because it was doing fck-all for our performances.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Question is will the Bolton Coroners Office require compensation when we go for Mixu Paatelainen?

Selling all the ping pong tables to clear the five-a-side pitch must've taken a while.

Phil Brown dismisses speculation about Bolton job, which will come as a relief to a couple of people on here.

Hmmm... apart from a token last bit where he mentions his current employers, nowhere in there does Brown categorically say he wouldn't go, just that it's rumours - he hasn't been contacted. Yet.
There is no truth in any Bolton rumours and I think they’ve just started because I was there for 15 years as a player, coach and manager. People keep asking me the question about whether or not I’m going there but it’s just speculation as far as I’m concerned. I’ve heard nothing at all and I’ve got a job to do at Southend United which I still very much want to finish.
Maybe it's like good old KD's quotes:
I guess if the call did come, that would be something I would have to consider […] if the phone call came, I'd probably have to consider it

We should offer Yaya Toure a birthday cake and see if he'll come as player/manager on that principle.

I'd take Steven Evans or Phil Brown. Evans has done brilliantly in the lower leagues, and now has a club in the Championship. Plays good, attacking football, has charisma, is hugely likeable and is a strong character. Then again, you could have said the same about Coyle when he first came. But Evans has got bite to him, and I think his character is one that's infectious and spreads to not just his players but his back room staff and everyone associated with the club. I saw an interview he did when he was at Crawley, he did a tour of his office and the interior of the stadium, and he just oozed charisma, charm and humour. Kinda like a poor-man's Redknapp. The only concern is that he's so fat he could be dead within the year.

Browny would be my other choice. He knows the club and, whereas it was almost just pure sentimentality with Coyle, Brown has a few more years worth of experience. He's made more mistakes than Coyle had, he's learned more, and I think he would be a good choice. COyle came to Bolton on the back of a promotion; he had very little experience in hindsight and hadn't done much wrong. So Bolton was his learning curve. Brown's got more years on his side.

One manager I don't want is Lennon. He strikes me as a fairy dull chap (I could be wrong). I don't think he's the kind of guy we need right now. He has no experience of managing in English football, and Bolton are a team in real peril at the moment. I don't think he has the means or the know-how to sort this mess out.

Steve Evans is one of the most widely-disliked managers in the game. Prosecuted for tax evasion at Boston. When they went down, he pledged to stay then three weeks later jumped to moneybags Crawley. There he got a 10-match touchline ban. Moved to Rotherham and, after an ill-tempered game against Bradford, had an altercation with a female Bradford employee who claimed he'd exposed himself to her; he was found guilty of "using abusive and insulting words and behaviour".

He's not the only managers to have a charge-sheet but there's something about him that rubs a lot of people up the wrong way. Some might say that's a good thing, but I'd rather it happened through success. Yes, Allardyce wound folk up, but usually because we'd beaten them. I'd rather us be annoyingly successful than successfully annoying.
