I got in just in time to see it! Cheers.

Got mithered by a builder. Have had to record it for a later date.Worthy4England wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Can't remember whether it was Will or Youri that recco'd this, but Downfall is just coming on on BBC4. Watched Bake Off last night. Recorded Scott and Bailey and Downfall. Need a couple of days holiday to catch up on my Tivo.

Well, shallow b'stard that I am, I went to the flicks with Mrs bobo and saw the Billy Connelly, David Tennant, Rosamund Pike film "What We Did on Our Holiday".
Wow, just wow. Funny & enthralling in a non-deep & meaningful sort of way. Highly recommended for thoseonot looking to have their lives changed every moment they breathe.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Wanna see that Holiday flick because of the kermode review and because of Rosamund Pike, but I bloody hated outnumbered!
Tonight I made the mistake of watching Brassed Off with half a bottle of mothers ruin! Leaking like a bairn!

Been watching The Leftovers. Absolutely ace so far and the soundtrack is cracking (Max Richter stuff).
You can get them all on Sky Anytime and it's 5 eps in

Yes watched the first 2, enjoyed it. Atmospheric and unsettling. (and Liv Tyler is fit)boltonboris wrote:Been watching The Leftovers. Absolutely ace so far and the soundtrack is cracking (Max Richter stuff).

A new series of Lewis starts tonight. That'll do for me.

I thought it was well worth watching, Bruce. Fine performances and a great job of presenting the main protagonists three-dimensional - monsters but with disturbingly human attributes.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
For the first time in well over a year we had the house to ourselves last night. no kids, no visitors, just the two of us. Bliss! So, we made the most of it... and watched three films back-to-back.... the films, that is.
Nice fillet steak meal with a bottle of Drakenskloof Pinotage too.
First film up was Pierce Brosnan in November Man. S'all right. Standard American CIA stuff. Lots of shooting and lots of bodies. Not much to get too excited about.
Second, Good Vibrations. Ah, much better! The story of Punk in Northern Ireland during The Troubles and in particular, the God Father of Punk. Took a while to get going but this is one of those feel good movies only Brits can make. Great humour and great music! Very much recommended.
Last, Jack Ryan; Shadow Recruit. Now, I'm a big fan of Tom Clancy and everything he has written, but for this they have totally reinvented the time line and the characters and just about started again. This is not the Jack Ryan from the books, much as Tom Cruise isn't.... anyway, its another CIA jaunt, this time through Moscow. Good Hollywood fayre, much better than November Man but still not a brilliant film.
Good Vibrations by far the best of the three films.

Just watched The Washington Snipers. Not an unreasonable way to pass 90 minutes. Good performances by both Isiah Washington and Tequan Richmond.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Wife just called me into the lounge to watch this little bald guy singing whilst another guy played guitar on Sunday Night at the London Palladium. It was 72 year-old Art Garfunkel singing Sound of Silence. Time really does fly....!
