The Official Lennon Quote Bank

Post by thebish » Sun Oct 12, 2014 2:29 pm

OK... I said I'd do this when we got a new manager! This is the place to put Lennon quotes about BWFC... we can come here and source what he actually said when it all starts to go tits up and we are calling for him to be axed!

the rules...

1) they must be actual quotes (the bits between quote marks) - not headlines or filler-guff from a journo extrapolating or interpreting what he said!

2) if at all possible - a link to the source and/or the context of the quote.

3) for future debate - if the quote is not here, then he didn't say it! :wink:

"I'd have no hesitation in working in the English Championship"

He said "if that TWSpy tries it on with me Ai'll shove his keyboard so far up his airse he'll have to find the Shift key with his sphincter".

Or something like that.

I seen an Aberdeen fan on here raging about him in the thread that was closed. The reason for this is probably that Aberdeen are known as the "sheep shaggers" and in Lennon's last match at Celtic Park he said to them "Would the sheep shaggers in the corner please shut up" after they interrupted his speech.

Well the reason for that is actually he is a steaming prick.

The "sheep shaggers" line was actually pretty funny at the time, and you'll find most took it in good spirit, it was his moment, the end of his career, he was entitled to be heard by his own fans in his own stadium.

The reasons, the actual reasons, not the delusions of a paranoid fc fan, were his dugout behaviour throughout his management career, and his appalling slander against Dons fans at Tynecastle, where he made up allegations of being spat on and having sectarian (LOL, from Dons fans??) abuse shouted at him, was fecking disgusting. Not once has he apologised. He should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.

+1

if the freedman episode should teach you anything, it is that talk is cheap & doesn't always match the reality. do you really want to deliberate over the nuance of every uttered word

see KD has thrown his 2 pennys worth in wrt club morale under freedman http://talksport.com/football/exclusive ... ift-morale" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nowt wrong with a quotebank with actual links to actual words, rather than the spin and bullshit produced round them

Let's hope we don't have the same cause for bitter rows about them though - I don't remember many arguments over the wording of Rioch's soundbites
