What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

slow cookers are fecking ace!
A pm is winging on its way to Bruce for his 3 bean chilli recipe. Any other recipes would be greatly received
Received your PM thanks, Harry, but I'll put the recipe on here for all (I thought I'd posted it up before)

Last time I made it I chucked a load of Kale in with it too (Cheers Bish) which, if you like dark greens, works an absolute treat.
Cheers Bruce :D That's next Saturdays tea sorted :oyea:

New one for me tonight - am making Maple-glazed butternut squash with garlic and ginger in the slow-cooker...

it isn't the kind of thing I'd normally cook - so will report later... (I can report, though, that the garlic and ginger roasting through the butternut is making a pretty mouth-watering aroma through the house...)

Banana mostly.

Went to the local street market and picked up a bag for £1 ... there are 17 of the beggars in there. Medium sized, Being market they'll be black by next week so need using. I see toffee banana with sesame seed comig on, for a couple of them but what else ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Spanish omelette with salad. Chilean Chardonnay.

Seville orange cake. Sweet Gewürztraminer - also from Chile (lovely!).

Just having a little Old Pulteney as a digestif.

Banana tarte tatin

Or slice them and roast with lime and honey, goes well with coconut ice cream.

it's not a question that can be answered generally! In the UK we tend to do recipes by weight - in the US they have this universal "cup" and do it by volume. Best thing is, I think, to buy a set of cup measures - full/half/third/quarter.. it makes life a lot easier...

a cup of onion is about one big onion! (near as makes no odds!)

Indeed. And to be honest, Harry, the only ingredient that you can actually over-do is the fresh chilli.

there's a handy cup to grams tool here for various frequently used ingredients...

:D aye! I couldn't find an oz one - though that's what I searched for!

I know decimalisation has been around for a while - but I still have NO IDEA at all what a grams weight for anything actually means!
