That'd've been a cushioned header, if he'd had a hat on.

Re: Will Carrot Top top Carrott?
Mills header from a set-piece: just as at Chelsea and Brighton...
Difference is here that we've had 61% possession, and 5 efforts to their 3 (although Mills's goal is the only accurate effort thus far)...

He's been saying all week about winning mentality.bobo the clown wrote:Including two who were about to be bounced out on loan ... The utterly magnificent Vela and Stuart Hall's lad.Worthy4England wrote:#BWFC subs: Kenny, Ream, Mason, Hall, Clayton, Vela, C Davies
Though I admit to seeing Pratley and Moxey and hoping that there's more there than we've seen. He's after a point I reckon.
Looking at the starting lineup I'd say it's more senior pro's on big contracts being given the chance to prove something.

Even by his own standards Pratley has been particularly shite.

Done a quick bit of research on our 2014 travels (or travails...)Worthy4England wrote:Dangerous talk about playing football by having posession of it DSB....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Mills header from a set-piece: just as at Chelsea and Brighton... Only twice this calendar year have we had more possession than the home side, and only twice have we had more shots than the home side...
Key: Opponents; our total shots / shots on target; (their total shots / shots on target); our possession percentage
Fulham 8/0 (16/7) 47%
Chelsea 3/2 (28/10) 37%
Wolves 11/5 (15/6) 41%
Leeds 22/8 (8/2) 55%
Crewe 11/6 (21/5) 47%
Brighton 9/1 (26/11) 43%
Watford 16/4 (18/5) 50%
Sheff Wed 12/5 (16/4) 44%
Charlton 16/5 (18/4) 44%
Donny 16/11 (17/5) 45%
Huddersfield 11/4 (22/8 ) 43%
Yeovil 15/5 (19/6) 50%
Derby 8/4 (18/6) 36%
Leeds 13/8 (19/5) 42%
Millwall 10/2 (22/5) 40%
Ipswich 13/3 (19/4) 44%
QPR 14/3 (13/3) 40%
Reading 9/2 (17/8 ) 52%

Well, kicking off 8 times is bound to bloody help your possession stats!

Re: Will Carrot Top top Carrott?
Good stats DSB
I think I'm happy that I didn't see that "knock it round the back four" shite that we've been forced to watch in our (average) low 40+% possession. Chungy done ok in the middle, we still look short of a shot from a forward - as if we didn't know. Need more from Pratters and #Dannsy. Probably not a bad time to get back into the hut for a shot of "believe"...

Re: Will Carrot Top top Carrott?
Who for whom? As you know, 1-0 is precarious.thebish wrote:time for some subs? freshen it up?
Assuming we don't want to bring on Paddy Kenny or Tim Ream, the options are Vela, Hall, Cravies, Clayton and Mason. Maybe Rob Hall down the wing? But if that's for Pratley, who one imagines is covering a lot of ground, does that (weird as it seems) weaken us?
Other options are to remove Beckford for one of the three (!) strikers on the bench - but Cravies doesn't score, Mason doesn't play well alone up top and Clayton's a kid.
Or bring on Vela... for whom?

Re: Will Carrot Top top Carrott?
Well, B'rum have used all 3 of theirs with 25m or so to go. Now, when I were a lad the opponents having no subs left (tbf there was only 1 in those times) was a sure sign to start kicking a few.thebish wrote:time for some subs? freshen it up?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Will Carrot Top top Carrott?
Elsewhere among our rivals:
At the Cottage, Fulham are still beating Norwich 1-0 (meaning the Canaries fall off their perch from first to sixth!) so they're currently staying two potions clear of us
At Huddersfield, Blackpool are losing 4-2 - they went 3-0 down but scored two just before half-time, but our old mate Jacob Butterfield appears to have quashed their comeback; as it stands, we're going two points above the see-see-Seasiders
Just above the drop zone and three points clear of us with 11 would be Birmingham, Brighton (losing 2-0 at home to Boro) and Wigan (drawing 0-0 at home to Brentford), all a point behind Millwall (losing 3-1 at home to play-off boys Wolves)…
