Re: The athletics/running thread
there you go, BP - Prufrock recommends prayer for your ailment!
Re: The athletics/running thread
To be strictly accurate, I recommend it as much as I recommend acupuncture!
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

to be strictly accurate - you recommended it rather than accumpuncture because it doesn't usually involve stabbing!Prufrock wrote:To be strictly accurate, I recommend it as much as I recommend acupuncture!

Re: The athletics/running thread
I was a bit puzzled by the PF diagnosis tbh, having read the info that the Doc gave to me. I assumed that it was the lack of support on my arches causing strain higher up??Gary the Enfield wrote:BP
Where you describe your pain sounds more like the Soleus muscle rather than PF. I thought PF was more heel and sole of the foot but I'm not an expert.
Was it aphysio who diagnosed it? You may benefit more from a deep tissue massage or acupuncture.
The Bursitis diagnosis came from the woman who performed the scan at my local GP surgery. She also said that I have fluid under my heels. I was told about the PF by my own GP.
I'll see what the Podiatrist says and take it form there.

Good luck to Bruce and those other lucky buggers running the Park Run this morning. Cruella's a hard mistress but we keep going back.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Great to see you this morning, mate, a real pleasant surprise (and BP & LE). Many thanks for your support and advice. Like having to run up Cruella twice wasn't difficult enough without the introduction of an additional hill. Sheesh.Gary the Enfield wrote:Good luck to Bruce and those other lucky buggers running the Park Run this morning. Cruella's a hard mistress but we keep going back.

Good to meet GtE this morning. Had a good chat. Can't be easy approaching a stranger and asking if they're BP from the internet!

353rd time lucky. Good to meet you too (although I vaguely recognise you so I suspect we have met and forgotten).Burnden Paddock wrote:Good to meet GtE this morning. Had a good chat. Can't be easy approaching a stranger and asking if they're BP from the internet!
Anyway well done Bruce. I've sent some pictures to you. You can decide whether to post the 'top of Cruella' pic or the 'winning line elation' one.

Cheers, mate. The top of Cruella shot looks as painful as it felt.Gary the Enfield wrote:353rd time lucky. Thankfully you weren't around when I was overtaken by a pram-pushing mum.

Cheers chaps. Yes, LE, good call. Am going to try and get it in regularly now. The usual pre-run prep for me at the Wanderers are on telly on Friday night and I won't be watching it at home.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Nice one. My aim to be beat my Bolton parkrun best and then go on a mini tour of N West parkruns. My mate Leon has done 86 parkruns at 85 different venues. I won't be looking to rival him though.

I think you come along to parkrun Hoboh, if we don't hold your attention I can assure you there are plenty who will.Hoboh wrote:Just a passing thought, can this thread not be sticked? its getting compulsive reading.
