Now here's something I was thinking about. Being as they've altered the course and made it more difficult, shouldn't existing PB's be expunged and new one's created? (or do I just need to run faster? :?)

They should, and the Bolton organisers have tried after a number of requests from parkrunners, but the London central lot won't allow it, bellends. Makes no difference to me as mine was set this year and I never ran on the old course like you did.

Few did. :D

Couldn't get going tonight. Did 2 K and came home.

Oh - bish. That quandary as to whether the Nike+ gives accurate distances? Well, I used it on Saturday morning on the Parkrun and it measured it to exactly 5K almost to the metre. So either it's cock-on accurate, or they measured the Parkrun with one. :?

i think i'd expect it to outside - if it is using satellite gps tracking... but in the gym on a running machine?? that's where I'd question it!

Just done 5K, 2 minutes quicker than I have been doing. Can't work out if that's the benefit of having done the Parkrun, or from me being on the piss until 2 O'Clock this morning. :?

I thought I felt some earth tremors :)

Seriously, seeing you were at it again has got me out of my 2 year slumbers and I'm midway through week 5

It really is a bastard running around here, as you know - Ive settled on lapping around Stich mi Lane/Harwood Meadows

I did think about aiming to Parkrun but that course is just daft

Just looking to get back to 26 minutes for 5k and lose 2 stone in the process

Ha! nice person. :D

Nice one, Fella. At least now there won't be me alone being pointed at by the neighbours.

Parkrun course is mental, but if I can get round it then so can you, and like you say, we're hardly short of hills to practice on by us.

Do a few Bolton parkruns then go and do Worsley Woods and knock about 2 mins off, it's on the old railway line that runs past Bolton Hospital. Flat and fast. My sis runs about 25 on Bolton and 24:45 over there. It's only 10 mins from the Bolton one as well.

I might just surprise you, one day. :D

Anybody fancy having a crack at the Manchester 10K next May? I'm a bit perturbed by it costing the thick end of £40 to run around Manchester but it'll certainly give me personally something to work towards.

Save your money Bruce. Go for the Bolton 10k, the Lostock 6 or the Smithills trail race. Much cheaper and on your doorstep. In fact, feck it, you're progressing well, why not all three!?

Oh nice one, Harry. They sound a better do. 10K around Leverhulme Park though says to me that that'll be 6 times up that cunting fecking hill though :?

No it's amuch nicer course than that. A bit twisty and turny but not too many hills. Marshalled it the last few years, might get back to running it this time.

Are we doing it then? Who's up for it?

Just taken advantage of this beautiful morning to get another 5K in. Have something called 'Bootcamp' with my mate's Mrs tonight. I have absolutely no idea what I'm letting myself in for here. :?

Today I haven't even been able to walk without leaning forward. Bootcamp = pure evil!

I'm shit at stuff like that. Struggle to walk downstairs etc. Keep meaning to condition myself better before running but simply can't be arsed!
Anyway, will be doing parkrun again Saturday. I may be accompanying an attractive young woman from my club, who is just starting running again. I'm the supportive teammate type. *halo*

It's different muscle groups you don't use otherwise, do a couple and you'll be fine the day after. Well, perhaps not fine, but better!

This is the problem! There's a Wednesday 'Retro Circuits' session at Horwich that I might start doing. I'm a natural weakling, so it might take me more than a couple.
