What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Well... The Aldi Prosecco - recommended by Salford Trotter - started yesterday evening very well.

The Aldi Verdejo - recommended by Little Green Man - made an excellent accompaniment to the brill smoked salmon and lemon risotto that followed - recipe posted by thebish...

An article about Aldi's Venturer range here - the Verdejo was reckoned to be the best. The Vermentino is not bad but I'd always go for the Spanish one.

They also do a rose Malbec which is rather decent.

Currently enjoying a sensational Argentinian Malbec from Aldi's expensive shelf. £5.99. Seriously delicious.

That with a lovely piece off of the salmon that I bought at Ashburner St, baked in foil, a jacket spuddie and some peas. :)

Smoked salmon tonight. Not sure what with yet. Possibly just cheap red wine
It's called 'Grapevine', Bruce.

As bobo intimated, you may need to wear your specs and get down on your knees to find it. Though why he had trouble beats me, since he's the spitting image of a garden gnome.
Well .... I regret to say it is extremely palatable. I sooo looked forward to calling you vile names and inferring that you know nowt on the evidence of this. Unfortunately I will have to find another reason to call you names.

Chicken jalfrezi in the slow cooker. Popped it in this morning and just walked in to a wonderful smell throughout the house. It's like we've moved to Daubhill :)

A culinary triumph! Three 'bloody hell, that was nice!' and one 'That was the best chilli I have ever had!'

I should add that the slow cooker has been on top of the fridge in its box and unused since purchase a year ago. Must use it more often!

Veal escalope Milanese. Spaghetti. Chopped tomato's with smoked paprika and Worcestershire sauce.

Steamed sponge syrup pudding. Home made custard.

Barbera D'Alba.

Glad you all enjoyed it, Clapton. I have all the kit here to stick another on for when I get home from golf tomorrow. Nom. :oyea:
Good to learn your guests view which support mine, in that chilli is best served as a bean dish and not a gloop of mince dish.

It's great isn't it :D

As a recent convert to the slow cooker, I only wish id done it years ago. Tonight's jalfrezi was feckin epic and so easy to make. If you like your food spicy, I can heartily recommend it.

This one works well

http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9652 ... r-tiramisu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just make sure you get enough port into the sponge, before it gets anything like soggy. ;-)

Edit: It comes from a skint country in Europe by the way. You might want to go for spotted dick instead as a matter of high principle.

Edit 2: Actually thinking about it, I might have mixed some hooch in with the mascarpone too... :-)

Was at Rio Ferdinand's place again last night. £25 for a grilled sea bass on its Jacksy then a £10 for veg? It's nice, but I doubt I'd go there in a 1,000 years if I was paying for it missen. £1,079 for 14 of us PLUS a £108 service charge and the 4ucker looked at me wondering where his tip was? :conf:

The service is absolutely dog shit in there.. Some greasy wankstain looking down on you because you've not ordered the Dom Perignon, despite being on minumum wage and having to work 15 hours a day bringing commoners like me my food and drinks

The fake paparazzi they employ on a Friday night is embarrassing too.

I genuinely dislike the place, regardless of it's cvnt of a proprietor
