It's okay getting players in from the lower leagues, but they're not always ready made. And with our budget, I doubt we can pluck one of the very best who is ready now. But if Lennon is serious about challenging for something much more than just relegation this year, someone like Eagles would be ideal for the here and now.
Of course, he'd have scored all the chances any of the players miss. He was that deadly for us wasn't he?
Also, buying players "something like Eagles" is the reason we're still up s**t creek.

Eluned's just got back. She said Bolton were boss and the ground was "proper tidy like". She still hates to see the Bluebirds in red. She went to a club in town looking for Enoch but was told no one with that name had been seen fir weejs.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Was there a job lot of phones with shady keypads on them, sold in Wales? Looks like Eluned picked one up too.bobo the clown wrote:Eluned's just got back. Which is what we were saying about CYL before Lennon rode into town. Eagles form 2 years ago almost made Dougie look like a good manager. Think what NL could get out of himAndy Waller wrote:William the White wrote:I'd take him if Lennon wants him. Like a shot.

I'd say that employing, at top Dollar, Zat Knight and the likes is more the reason.Andy Waller wrote: Also, buying players "something like Eagles" is the reason we're still up s**t creek.

Too be fair to Chungy, Harry, as NL said, I think it was more psychological with how Chungy wasn't at his best, whereas Eagles is just soft and although a world beater on any given day, he didnt do it consistantly enough, and I don't think he'd even have done it every game for NL. Eagles is his own worst enemy, I did like him as a player, but I dont think he's got the drive/commitment to do "his stuff" every game. Not only for us, but speaking to a few Burnley fans in my office, he was having 1 good game in 4. They said he suffers from IusedtoplayforUTDitis and thinks he's automatically a superstar. There are stories of him turning up to his first day of training for Burnley in his Ferrari with his sunglasses on and demanding a parking space nearer to the changin rooms (can't confirm if this was true or just BS).Harry Genshaw wrote:Which is what we were saying about CYL before Lennon rode into town. and on a side note (not aimed at you Harry), for all his running I still dont rate Pratley and stand by my comment that apart from his cross for Feeneys second he didnt really do anything of note against Cardiff. Yes, he harries defenders but theres no end product to anything he does and he has no vision or clue as to what to do when he gets the ball. he trys and I'll give him that but the amount of times on tuesday night, he let his man run away from him or just ran with the ball with no clue as to what he was going to do with it was clear to see.

Perhaps understandable when you've been groomed by the permachampions. Maybe Paul Wheatcroft was like that too when he came here. I bet he ain't now.wigan white wrote:Not only for us, but speaking to a few Burnley fans in my office, he was having 1 good game in 4. Bet when he was in the United youth-teams Wheatcroft didn't think that his finest sporting achievement was already behind him - breaking the Bolton School long-jump record!

Is he still playing anywhere /at any level, Boris? His professional career just never got off of the ground.boltonboris wrote:Oh you! Fair enough, good luck to him. Point was more about Eagles, and unemployment, which tends to knock a man's pride somewhat - although Eagles is hardly Yosser Hughes.boltonboris wrote:Oh you! He pottered around non league for a bit but occasionally plays for old boltonians with a few mates now.
