I recently asked someone who'd met BR if he was as grumpy in real life as he sometimes comes across on here. The reply was - nah, he's just always p!ssed!wigan white wrote:Bruce's one man mission to cull "The Wanderer"Lost Leopard Spot wrote:You stay out of it, you! Rumours going round last night/today that we're signing Gary Hooper on loan today????
Re: Rumour has it.............
During the 2010–11 season, Hooper had the best strike rate of any player in Britain, scoring 20 goals in 26 games with a strike rate of 0.77 goals per game. This was also the fourth best strike rate in Europe, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antonio Di Natale.

From Wiki:
Hooper has scored in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup, League Cup, Football League Trophy, FA Trophy, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premier League, the first and only player to achieve this feat. On top of this, he has also scored in the Conference Premier and the Conference South.[2]
Bloomin' 'eck. A striker!

Re: Rumour has it.............
I have to say that I disagree. He's a bad manager, and Motherwell would be better off without him.nelson66 wrote:http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/foot ... er-4606244
Coyle to Motherwell ?
Despite all his managerial failings at Bolton I still wish him nothing but the best for his future career
A nice fella
Hope you get the job Owen
He should stick to something he's decent at, like punditry. Maybe he'd make a good coach.
Re: Rumour has it.............
A good coach?! I've never seen a manager who understood football less.
I think he should be a motivational speaker. Seriously.

Hmm, I think I'd see you on point one and raise you with Freedman. Agreed absolutely on point two though.Prufrock wrote:A good coach?! I've never seen a manager who understood football less.

Re: Rumour has it.............
Coyle is definitely a better manager than Freedman. With a good defensive coach, I think Coyle could easily do a job for most Championship clubs whereas I don't see much hope in Freedman at all. At least Coyle's teams have something going for them, they're good going forward, and his weaknesses could be fixed by bringing in someone to work alongside him. He left us because he didn't want Sammy Lee in a more prominent role but I think that combination would have worked well. Freedman is a no hoper, he won't ever manage a club better than ours and I'd be surprised if he was still managing in 10 years. He'll drift down the lower leagues while people still buy into the myth of what he did at Palace and here for a short while, but he'll be found out eventually.
On Hooper, I'm not sure what I think of the transfer. I would love a natural goalscorer here but I was so impressed with us at times against Wigan, I don't want that system to be changed. If we do sign him, hopefully it's to play alongside Davies rather than replace him though because he's one player who really does deserve a long run in the team, though it'd be unfortunate for Clayton because he's the one who'd likely be dropped. The problem then is the lack of width but a narrow diamond midfield it should work well. If it doesn't happen, I don't really mind because the team that beat Wigan can go far in this league.

He can't possibly be match fit.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
