What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Indeed. The smell in that tiny shop is hard to beat!!

I've even been known to post orders to grateful friends down south, who are unable to make the trek oop north.
If there's anything that's more moreish then I'd love to know what it is.

I'll just have a half a slice - three slices in

Am in Mevagissey - proper working fishing harbour. Each day we visit the little harbour shop where they sell a selection of fish caught that day off one of their boats.. So far - sardines, whiting and red mullet! Yum :0)

Had late lunch at Prezzo in The Printworks. Not bad, not bad at all, especially for a chain. The pasta was superbly cooked to al dente and the house red is certainly decent though unremarkable. It's just that they need to understand how to use chilli oil rather than slices of red chilli, especially in delicate lobster and crab pasta dishes.

This morning I was taken out by a freelancer (probably the first time in history a freelancer has taken his editor out) for breakfast at The Delaunay - a restaurant/hotel thing in theatreland, near the savoy etc. This was the breakfast menu http://thedelaunay.assets.d3r.com/pdfs/ ... st-web.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now, I'm not a foodie. But I can tell that the majority of that looks lovely. So for some reason I ordered the Viennese breakfast. I was there thinking "oh it'd be like a cheese board and some ham, etc". Instead it was the most dry, overpowering thing ever. Blergh, can still taste the salami now :(

This wasn't helped by everyone else having either a mountain of bacon on pancakes or eggs royale.

Yep ..... but two boiled eggs and soldiers. Must have been tempting just for the crack. (boom-boom)

Made another chili bean soup and whacked a load of spinach in it, healthy rascal that I am 8)

Anyhow - nipped in Aldi and noticed that they're doing a 2010 Barolo for £9.99. Secured three.

Whilst I suspect that any Barolo at under a tenner is not going to be spectacular, I'd also advise that drinking Barolo young will just disappoint.

However, I've just checked the one note that exists on it and the drinker claims it looks and feels old already, so what do I know, fill yer boots!

Yesterday I picked up a German Pinot Noir from Aldi at £4.49.

It has to be undrinkable at that price, surely... But, hey-ho, Aldi constantly surprises with its wine...

Nah, it's a from scratch recipe. Everything goes in a pan, you boil it until the pasta is cooked and then eat it. None of the sugar and crap in the store bought sauces, but really tasty.

Monday night is my regular cooking night (wife at yoga).

So...

Just made some carrot, leek and coriander soup.

Nice.

Enough to last a few days.

Marinading some chicken thighs in piri piri and garlic at the moment and have some parboiled potatoes waiting to be roasted.

Banana cake possible. As is roquefort.

The amazing bargain Rueda Verdejo from Aldi is nicely chilled. (Was it LGM that reccoed that? Nice one!)

Monday night.

I'm having Tomme de Chevre with black truffle tonight.

Now to pick a suitable wine....
