Haha. Cheers, Bish. Yes, there is that, I suppose.thebish wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Just ran 8K, my longest EVER, in the forlorn hope of sweating out the ridiculous excesses of last night's works do!

Today I've learned that running around my local park, the day after it's pissed down all day, is akin to running in treacle.

Good point. And now the run is snow and iced off anyway. Hope HG didn't have another wasted journey.

Me and Our Kid did it anyway. Well, we ran along a path that takes you past the Gypo camp and into Moses Gate Country Park. Icy in parts but just mainly very boggy. 5.7K in total.LeverEnd wrote:Good point. And now the run is snow and iced off anyway. Hope HG didn't have another wasted journey.

Cheers, H. Yep, I don't think I'd have been much slower had I walked it round, but I'd said to myself at the start to just get round without stopping, which I managed.Harry Genshaw wrote:Well done for getting up in time! Re: The athletics/running thread
Right now, this second, I don't think I could trot 300 yards down the road without the having to crash to my knees and heave my guts up whilst trying to clear the massive build up of mucus in my lungs... but, feck it, I've just signed up (pre-opening) for the White Peak Marathon in March.
I'll either make it or I won't... but I intend to finish in under 4 hours

Re: The athletics/running thread
Yesterday I had my first run since August '14
I say run but it was a light jog. 1 minute run 1 minute walk for 30 minutes. It won't win me any medals but it felt fantastic to be out and doing.
I awoke this morning with that delicious post exercise ache in my quads. Back in the game.

Oh is that what it was? I thought it was a poorly fitting Petr Chec effort, in green. Fair play.LeverEnd wrote:I'm running the one tomorrow in my Brussels sprout hat.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Still waiting for a podiatry appointment, so decided to go out for a gentle jog this evening. My first outing in 3 months. Only did 1.25 miles but it's a start. Just stretching the calf muscles now, hoping to avoid/limit any reaction.

I spied that you'd sneaked in a cheeky 2K on Nike+. Nice one, mate. Hope there's no unwelcome reaction.Burnden Paddock wrote:Still waiting for a podiatry appointment, so decided to go out for a gentle jog this evening. My first outing in 3 months. Good news GtE, glad you're back on it.
Bruce, I don't think it would provide much protection from Stephen Hunt's knee, despite being hand-crafted by that well known sports brand WKD.

Yeah well I want a word with him about my bright yellow Ron Hill jacket that condensates inside when I run in it!Gary the Enfield wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Thought this might interest the runners:
