As an option, how about Dexter Blackstock at Notts Forest? Pearce looking to loan him out and with their transfer embargo

Played for the Argyle on loan. Iirc he was a good player! Sort of a Craig Davies sort! But not an out an out scorer, we ain't gonna get one of them anyway!

Basic rules of football, from centre-forwards just nodding wingers crosses in, are things of the past in the main now. Juke and Mason period excepted, look how many of our goals this season and last have come from strikers. As long as we defend well it matters not who does the scoring for me. I do hope Eidur will have that effect up front though, and maybe Barca and Real will come in for Heskey....who knows...

Anelka is back from Mumbai, apparently. If we're giving Heskey a chance how about a look at the Elk?

Admin, you may as well strike this thread if we're sticking with the old September one!

I confidently predict the best January transfer thread for some years, however if you must stay with the failed September effort, you may get all you deserve (sniffs haughtily, spins on heel and minces off into the distance....)

The talk around Commons seems real.

The little I've seen of him gives heart.

At only 31 he'll bring the average age down a bit!

From the noises in the press, the title of this thread might better have been along the lines of:

Bob's Bijou Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread

Should we be looking at someone like Samaras on loan from West Brom? He's not getting game time and he has Lennon connections. Or is that too Dougie/Palace for you lot.
