Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread

If I was in the bottom six of the Prem he's exactly the sort of player I'd be looking at chucking 5 million at. West Brom paid £10m for a striker their manager had never seen play!

This is a player who may have hit a bit of form in the last two months but was utter gash for the two years prior to that.
And has about six months left on his contract.
With a colourful injury history.
Oh, and is unavailable to play til February.
Plus Gartside's stubborn refusal to accept anything but rock bottom prices for our players.
5 million quid? You want your bumps feeling.
Businesswoman of the year.

We don't need to pray for him. He already exists!!thebish wrote:we can only pray for an eager Harry Redknapp with money to burn...
Can any twitterers on here start a few rumours? Before you know it old twitchy face would have the window wound down and telling us all how Chungy was a top top player and worth every penny of the £8 million he's just paid

F*ck off!
He's not a wheeler & dealer, he's a f*cking football manager.

Lenny just confirmed in his post match interview on GMR that we will be announcing a signing on Monday.

Some right, some wrong, here.
Chung, I think, had a decent record on injuries before his leg-break. Clearly the problem was psychological and Lennon seems to have sorted that (by some magic process Freedman never came near to figuring out). I think a run of performances which have regularly had fans of other clubs single him out goes beyond 'a bit of form'. He's been back to the exceptional player he was pre-injury (barring notching the occasional goal).
In the 'right' column, I'd say we'd be lucky to get £2m for him if he refuses to sign a contract extension.

it would seem likely, if a little boring, that it's someone who has already been heavily trailed... is this a loan or a purchase - presumably the former?

LOV says there is a rumour of Wheater rejoining Boro - this could be his potential (much cheaper) replacement.

Barcelona were apparently looking at him in 2010, looks to be more of a winger than a centre forwardRiviman wrote:http://lionofviennasuite.sbnation.com/2 ... milinkovic" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Peter Thompson wrote:Apparently its a Serbian striker / winger Marko Milinkovic....twilight wrote:Free agent apparently (But I am not itk) This is from the Oracle

Serbian winger, I'll reserve judgement till I see him play next week against Leeds.
However as is the norm now with Lennon this has certainly whet my appetite
