What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Assume that's Cheese or something?

If so, isn't that like saying "iphone" instead of "phone"

Or "macbook" instead of laptop

Or Beemer "instead of car"

You fvckin Cheese snob

Am I allowed to say Fortnum & Mason Stilton without being a cheese snob, Boris? It is, afteral, a very special Stilton. :)

Ha, but no, it's different! I can't stand people who talk about their "iphone" or their "macbook" when they just mean phone or laptop. "Oh, can I use your plug socket to charge my iPhone?". No. F*ck off.

However, if they're comparing the particular merits of the iPhone versus some other sort, then it's important.

How amazing that sandwich was, was not just due to it being "ham and cheese". It relied on it being ham and this lovely stuff: http://yespleasecheesereview.blogspot.c ... -ewes.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So ner!

How can it be empty with a bottle of Balvennie lurking in your house? Or have you polished it off already?

A fair point well put. No, I've had a glass of it upon returning home from Saturday's match, frozen to the marrow, but the rest is there to go at. :)

Rather like a Freedman defence, I'm all over the bloody shop as far as that chart is concerned. I've favourites in each corner and down the middle!

It might be the whisky version; it certainly isn't the whiskey version.

The missus is out a few nights in a row - so - rather than pig myself on junk-food for one (as I am often tempted to do when cooking for just me) I have made up a big batch of this slow cooker red bean and sweet potato chili - largely because it had ingredients that i already had so didn't need to go out in the cold to the shop!

anyway - turns out it's pretty fecking awesome! and - this is supposed to make 4 portions - if you divide it into 4 - each portion is only 185 calories - which is double awesome!

it's plenty spicy hot, filling one-pot comfort food! serve with rice or hunks of bread - or - just eat a huge bowlful on its own!

1-2 tbs olive oil
an onion
a red bell pepper
garlic cloves - 1 or 2 - up to you
a tablespoon of chile powder (yes - a tablespoon!)
1.5lbs of sweet potato cut into chunks
a can of chopped tomatoes
a can of kidney beans (drained)
two thirds of a pint of water
salt/seasoning to taste
(I also wanged in a load of kale about ten mins before serving)

I thing it might make a difference to slowly fry the onion in the oil with the garlic and chopped pepper and chili powder in a frying pan - before adding them to the slow cooker - but I have no science to back this up!

anyway - that's what I did - fried the onion slowly with the chili powder and garlic and the chopped pepper then stirred in the chopped sweet potato so it was all well coated...

then - just wang all the ingredients in the slow cooker on the low setting for 6-8hrs.

you'll be thanking me tomorrow! :-)
