Bolton boss Neil Lennon is considering a move for Swindon captain Nathan Thompson.

The defender has been instrumental in town's push for the League One title so far this season and has attracted interest from a number of Championship sides.

And Bolton are the latest to show an interest in the 24-year-old, who has made 110 appearances for Swindon since making his debut in October 2010.

Thompson's younger brother Louis, 20, was sold to Norwich in September but has spent this season back on loan at Swindon.

But top-of-the-table Town are desperate not to let their influential skipper leave with promotion in sight.

the club have invited Kamil Wilczek to train with the team this week, so Neil Lennon can rule a judging eye over him. As you can imagine, information about the 27-year-old Piast Gliwice (who play in the Polish first division) forward is rather hard to come by. However, we've managed to deduce that the 6ft1" attacker was once a midfielder, but was converted to a striker after he re-signed for his current club in 2013. Since then he's scored 17 goals in 49 games, which equals to about a goal every 2.9 games.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but NL said yesterday that Commons was a no no for January 100%. Celtic have come out and said he is not for sale and Lennon mentioned his good relationship with Celtic and not wanting to damage that.

Bolton manager Neil Lennon has given up on signing Celtic forward Kris Commons this month.
The former Parkhead boss had hoped to use the uncertainty over the former Scotland international's future to his gain and lure Commons south.
But he has now ruled out a late January move after Celtic made it clear the out-of-contract attacker will not be sold in this transfer window.

Lennon told STV: 'Celtic have come out publicly and said he's not for sale, he won't be leaving and we haven't pursued that any further.
'I've got a great relationship with Celtic, a great relationship with Peter [Lawwell] and I don't want to damage that.
'People keep asking me about Kris and I feel uncomfortable talking about him because he is Celtic's player at the end of the day.'
Commons, was a central figure under Lennon, netting 31 goals in the Northern Irishman's final season in charge.
But under Ronnie Deila, he has been in and out of the side as he was forced to accept his position was not guaranteed.
However, Lennon believes Celtic should look to tap into more than just his playing abilities as he recommended the 31-year-old for a future coaching role with the Hoops.

Lennon said: 'It was something that myself and Peter talked about. Kris gets the club, he gets Celtic.
'He was having a great season last year and we talked about it in terms of working again together when his career finished. He's an intelligent boy, I think he'd have plenty to offer on the coaching side of things.
'I think he would be an asset for Celtic in a coaching capacity.'

Like Boro reject Jutkiewicz? Fairly sure if we were linked with players from Poland and Swindon under the previous manager, people would be screaming about a lack of ambition - when in fact Freedman's key lack of ambition was in his tactical (mis)uses of those players.
