I see that the Met Office have come up trumps again.

It's neck and neck between them and BWFC Ticket Office for the 'Egregious Wankers of the Year' award and it's still January!

I'm sorry, Bruce, but the Egregious Wankers of the Year trophy has been pre-awarded to Owen Coyle and Dougie Freedman from 2014-2018 inclusive. No other nominations can be accepted until January, 2019 (In Perpetuity was considered).

A nice drop of rain over the twenty-four hours to 0900 this morning. 58.4mm. In the same period the humidity varied from 98% to 99%. Temperature max was 17.9ºC and min 15.4ºC. Max wind gust 22.3Km/h. Apart from the lack of sunshine it's been a comfortable day.

Does that graph not show that it started to happen 3 million years ago i.e. before humans even existed. Obviously it is accelerating but I'm not sure that will convince the doubters.

I would just add that I am not a climate change doubter.

Clearly the latter as a reaction to the snowmaggedon warnings. Except of course south of the Mason-Dixon where the former pronunciation is used.

Well, the snow seems to have passed us by. Sunny and almost cloudless blue sky in the main. That won't last for long and it's bitterly cold amongst it all. Never mind, the wife's just serving up bacon on toast with a mug of hot tea, I think I'll survive.

Beautiful day out there! I got a good walk in along the canal from Stretford to Sale and back, and then around Talbot Road and through Longford Park back to home. A good six mile walk to start the month with.

My sister used to live in Grande Prairie (Canada) where temperatures of -20 were considered normal... when visiting Britain in an ordinary winter she would always remark that is seems much colder over here...

my sister said she thought it felt colder over here cos it is a damp-cold not a dry-cold... seeps deep into your bones!
