Re: Stuart Pearce
No surprise really. Danny Mills criticism of him last week pretty much confirmed what the rest of us were thinking.

"Unfortunately, recent results convinced me it was best to pursue alternative managerial options. I hope our supporters understand my decision. Stuart is someone I have always admired and that will never change. For that reason I have offered him an advisory role at the club, which I sincerely hope he accepts so we can all move forward together."
"Former Crystal Palace and Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman is an early favourite with the bookmakers ..... "I'd like rather a lot to see him there ... with no money, a need to cut back and transfer embargo.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Stuart Pearce
No surprise on him going but that appointment is very surprising.
Do they have a forum? Is it in meltdown?

Re: Stuart Pearce
There is and this my fav so far:
Took a Bolton side full of prem quality down to the bottom. They are only just recovering.
Also publicly slagged us off last season for our spending saying he hopes FFP take action.
Well they did Dougie, and you are inheriting it.
Welcome to Nottingham Forest.

Re: Stuart Pearce
I'm genuinely surprised. Not just in that anyone, absolutely anyone, would have seen how poor a job he did here. Not just the results, though you' have thought that our worst start in 120 years followed by another start this year almost as bad would have been noticed.
His man-management was so poor and that can't be unrecognised, Shirley.
More than this however his health remains an issue. He was so close to a nervous breakdown here, in fact I'd not be surprised if he actually had one. We all recall the state he descended into .... rambling, muttering interviews. His physical condition deteriorated until he looked like a tramp. It was obvious to anyone that he wasn't getting sleep and his mind was stretched terribly. It was a mercy to relieve him from the role.
To come back so soon into another frying pan seems reckless, stupid even, on both his and the new club's part.
Anyway, that's Forest's business. I wonder if he'll give them any "little gifts" and show them how "playing without the ball" goes. Odd experiments and great pronouncements which last a couple of weeks at a time.
How many of their squad need to re-learn how to run ?
... & how many former players he'll try to sign. I can think of a couple he can have this evening.
Fck I loathed what he did here and how he sucked the life out of the place.

Re: Stuart Pearce
presumably this means that we will offer absolutely no excuses in Lenny's defence if we fail to beat Forest on 21st Feb...
Re: Stuart Pearce
From reading some of their forums I think duggie needs to get off to a good start or he will get the anger and shite that was held back from Pearce due to his status at the club despite being a shite manager.
His previous comments about FFP and Forest spending have helped him.
It will be intesting to see if he has improved his PR.

It'll be interesting to see if he's washed his hair and got some fresh shirts tbh.

At least they will know what their team is 6 weeks in advance.
