Mentality of a fecking winner! We weren't there to make up the numbers or be brave and plucky but lose in the end. Damn right.

Love the man, but you'll never see two more clear bookings than the two Danns picked up. Element of protecting a guy who's been immense since he came in, I guess.

Penalty interesting too; looks soft on every angle except one, from behind the goal, where to me it's clear as day he stands on Clough's toe. Still arguably made a lot of it but I think there's enough.

I only saw the last hour on a stream. Wheater has got praised deservedly but no one mentions Lonergan. He may have let in a couple of goals, but he made some truly spectacular saves. I'm afraid we were dead in our feet at the end and the loss seemed inevitable. But they played their hearts out and what else can you do? I was impressed by Mills up front and Vela seemed to do well. I'm not sure why Eider stayed on to the death - he was out of gas. I'm not sure he could have made a much better header from the position he was in (the keeper had it covered), but if he had headed it back across the goal we were almost certain to score. Oh well.

He was a shadow of his former self wasn't he, Gerrard. That Hollywood ball he attempted on about 75 minutes which went straight through to Lonners will not be well received in actual Hollywood.

We gave them a right good go but their name is hardly on the cup having been scared by AFC Wimbledon and taken to the edge by an average but improving Championship side with Matt Mills up front!

Maybe.. but sod 'em if they have any complaints - anyone in red would've done the same and Skrtel's grappling could be responsible for 5 pens a game!

I can only remember his free kick which went into row ZZ.

I loved him doing his usual hang around the edge of the box spinning them in first time and finding Wheater's head every. single. time.

made me proud again last night. a valiant effort. 11 v 11 we would have seen that out. i could not have coped with watching them struggle on for another half hour! i think it was definitely a penalty, but also definitely a sending off.

also, theres a lot of Trotter disdain on here, i havent really seen enough of him to comment so this might seem unfair but Trotter on the bench 1-0 up. Trotter off the bench 1-2 down. both Liverpool goals were sublime tbf but they both came from players he was marking??

To take that team to 180-odd minutes with 9 adults and two children and a CB up front was fantastic. 1st goal not Trotter's fault. Watch the first 80 minutes, that's how we defended, Coutinho Lallana and Sturridge run off midfielders and get passed on: except Dervite had got drawn in. Not his fault mind, coz Danns had thrown it away. Love the guy, but no excuse for the two stupidest bookings you'll ever see. Left us one short and they exploited that for a full half hour. Eidur should have scored too. Still v proud that a patchwork side managed that. Now we'll see. If Lennon's eye for a player is as good as the rest, we're gonna be unreal.

I think we played really well and for a wanderers team of the last few years moved well, couple of bad choices, one or two misplaced passes instead of smashing it around their box but we did rally well.
Looks like Danns does a Paul Scholes from time to time maybe he'd be better learning to keep his feet and harass.
Trotter, feckin' Trotter, I thought I may mellow overnight, not a chance that tosser is a disgrace not only to our club but to football in general, I wouldn't with his level of awareness like to be in a car anywhere near him. My granny at least would have got a yard nearer than he did for the first and for the second why stand so far off he should have been in his shorts on the edge of our box.

Another kick in the balls delivered courtesy of BWFC.

I don't know what this club has done wrong in the past, perhaps it defiled a sacred buriel ground, signed a pact with the devil or bit the head of a baby duckling but no matter how many players and managers come and go there's always a last minute winner coming alon to deflate the elation bubble.

We shot ourselves in the our three feet last night. Eidur's miss, Danns' red card and the substitution of Clough were all big moments. Plus sitting deeper and deeper against a team where attack isn't the one thing they can't do.

I know it's easier said than done but I think we panicked with 15 minutes left and it was on the cards that Liverpool would score.

I said to the lad next to me a couple of weeks back that I never rated Eidur as a clinical finisher, he scoffed at the time but this morning he's admittted I might have been right.

Jesus Christ Bolton when wilt thou stop forsaking us?
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Just had a quick look at the RAWK sh ite. They really are a bunch of ungracious bastards aren't they? Best fans in the world? Fxck right off, you granny robbin' bin dipping cnuts.

One of 'em has lost all respect for NL for fielding an alehouse side. Which is probably because we don't have a zillion quid to spunk on players.

We are also a bunch of cheating, diving, clogging dirty bastards, who had the ref on our side. One even bragging about how 'Brendan' completely blanked the ref at the end. Because like the rest of you scouse t wats, he has no class at all.

First sighting today of a 'Lennon link'. Mirror reckons Hull will come in for him if they get rid of Mrs Doubtfire.

I remain very proud of a club and team so stretched it was playing a centre half up front. The spirit and fight were great to see and not something we've been used to for 5 or 6 years.

Nonetheless we lost and I like that Lennon is annoyed that we threw a good position away.

Danns wants a talking to. The first booking was harsh the second less so and the ref had little choice. A good performance but a rash moment that laid even more pressure on.

I'm not sure taking Clough off was too wise but hey

I do know that bringing Trotter on was crazy. What does he do in training that convinces sane men to think him capable ? I really do try to lay off him as I have called him out since his first game but .... .

However, is it his FAULT ?? I don't think so. He's doing his best .... it's just that his best is about 5 divisions lower than this level. He's slow .... of movement of course but more so of thought. The ball wizzes past him before he's clicked and his movement is cumbersome to say the least. Bruce calls him a wardrobe on casters. I say he's a human mattress just bumbling around. You can learn to overcome a lack of speed ... I don't see how you overcome a slowness of thinking.

I like to think that the recent additions, let alone our injured, would mean we don't have to put ourselves, or him, through that again.

Oh .... & Pirate, if you have waited this long to realise that Scousers are one-eyed, classless, arrogant, ingrates then I'm disappointed.

Re: Danns

I read a 'mixed-fans' forum and both Leicester and Palace fans have separately commented about him getting silly reds in big games for them. Headbutts, two footed lunges, the lot.

I thought he's been really good in recent weeks and he seems an alright sort but maybe he runs too hot on the big games.

Nah. This is something which I and hopefully most of the nation have known for a very, very long time, my custard pie toting friend.
I just like to raise awareness of it from time to time.

Back in a very hazy memory, I think I remember him being sent off for Palace for some kind of Cantonaesque assault on another player, and thinking wtf!!?? Don't remember details tho. Might be on't interweb somewhere.....

Scousers have no class. Its why they live in such a dump like Liverpool. They deserve Liverpool and Liverpool deserves them.

Anyone know the rules regarding the red card? Does Dannsy sit the next one out now? That's a huge miss with Pratters also out.
