What was all that business about between him and the Palace player that clattered into him? First Pearson had him by the throat and then he wouldn't let go of his arm?!TonyDomingos wrote:Turns out Pearson hasn't been sacked.TonyDomingos wrote:Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I see Leicester have sacked Pearson. Leicester supporter at work has been telling me for weeks of rumours that they want NL in. Certainly the fans would have him back in a heartbeat.

Then that smugly smiling "I can take care of myself" - weird. Pearson tried to sign McArthur in summer; he went to Palace instead, but Pearson blames Wigan rather than the player. All very odd.Bruce Rioja wrote:What was all that business about between him and the Palace player that clattered into him? First Pearson had him by the throat and then he wouldn't let go of his arm?!

I think it might have been because Pearson is a bit of a cock!Bruce Rioja wrote:What was all that business about between him and the Palace player that clattered into him? I found the whole thing if not disturbing then certainly very uncomfortable. Pearson strikes me as a man with several personality issues. But yeah, he can apparently look after himself. Wooooooooo, tough guy.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Then that smugly smiling "I can take care of myself" - weird. I think he was messing about at first, but then got a bit weird and thought he needed to carry on the charade by keeping hold of him.
all very strange

"Lennon" in for Gareth McAuley from West Brom. Pulis says no.

Thus it begins. Thought Heskey was supposed to make us feel good, knew about the last, but Vela is a bit of a sickener (not for him obviously).TKIZ! wrote:Three bits of transfer info:

I've not heard the interview so I don't know, but I'm hoping that he was talking about Lennon's ability in general, and his chances of ending up at a big club in the future.TANGODANCER wrote:Thus it begins. It'd be a poor do if one of the current playing staff is openly touting the manager for another job.

Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
we are rightly impressed, but i don't think it can yet be said that Lennon has stamped his foot on the english game in any way that looks meaningful to anyone else... if we're his stepping stone - then he's gonna have to take us close to the playoffs if not actually into them...
Re: Bijou Bob's Bargain Basement Buys - Jan transfer thread
The Heskey soundbites could have been taken out of context for all we know. But there's no doubt that Heskey is only here for the short-term and has offered a few quotes that would rankle with Bolton fans had they been from players supposedly here for the longer-term. For example, he said a few weeks ago how a number of players here are probably using Bolton as a stepping stone for bigger things.
There could be nothing in that Vela story. They've got Can as a ready made replacement for Gerrard - as well as Henderson - and in any case Vela is contracted until 2017.

Nice to have academy lads (and manager) deemed worthy of better things.
Not sure Vela is a replacement for Gerrard: he doesn't usually react to going a goal behind by peppering the stand with ridiculous shots from everywhere.

Hope that's the case. They were after Boggers after the cup tie at Anfield weren't they? lolJugs wrote:The Heskey soundbites could have been taken out of context for all we know. Was impressed with Vela in the Fulham game. Had gone quiet IMO in the few before- tends to happen with young uns, they come in and do well on a wave of adrenalin, then level out, and was worried he'd do the same. His intelligence and choice of pass is what's always stood out for him and that seemed to be there again. If he's settled and now *feels* first team, we'll have some player on our hands, IMO.
And Clough looks the real deal too.

The Vela thing sounds like BS. We just played Liverpool and Vela played quite well ergo Liverpool want to buy Vela. Naa... Hes not even really proved himself at Championship level yet.
