Those in the know (So LeverEnd and Our Kid, then) reckon that I was slower today due to it being my fifth 5K run in six days. I blame it on me having gone to the pub last night, personally. ;)
I can imagine 25k in 6 days would leave you feeling a bit short today! I'd only done 7k this week and was fecked.

1:02 faster this week, somehow. Reckon I might win the thing next week, at this rate!

Yes Bruce you can expect to be slower with so much effort this week.
Good on you for having a crack at it though.

Well done BP. Sub 30 is decent for 5k from nowhere. Be good to see.you all in a couple of weeks.

Worthy - I got as far as "a report in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology says". :D

Brilliant stuff, BP. I'll bring a podium along for you next week. :D

Be superb to see you, Enfield. Bring along your spends for breakfast at Sainsbury's (Audrey won't be there, I'm afraid). :oyea:

Update:

On Tuesday I had my first run out with the club since last August. Stayed at the back of a slow group just to see how I was. Very pleased to get through the session (approx. 10k)

Last night I did a long slow steady 6m run at 9m30s average pace.

Knee's a little sore this morning but nothing serious. Things are looking up.

I dont. It's a learning curve. I can walk down stairs without pain so I'm taking that as a positive. :oyea:

Just tipped the scales at 14 stone this morning. I need to get back to running properly again. It's either that or denying myself crisps and bread and stuff, so I'm getting mi trainers out :D

You chaps considering going to the Forest game, you still got time for a post park run brekky?

My entourage is growing. I may well be joined by my Dad, Mrs GtE and Little Miss Gte so the post run brekkie may have to be deferred.

I'll be at the run though. I have no expectations of what I'll do time-wise but just to get round will be an achievement.

What Bruce said! Will be good to see you running again too. Times schimes - getting round is all that matters - the rest will surely follow

I think we'll all be trailing in LEs wake and probably BP the pb specialist too! I only hope I recognise the new svelte Rioja when I get there :D

It'll be LE's wake we're all trailing in. I'll be one of those dodging the cnuts on mobility scooters 'driving' down the middle of the bloody path, with a dog. I'm yet to see LE mid-race after we've done lap of the track! That's not to say that he hasn't lapped me and I haven't noticed.

At his current rate of improvement BP will be winning it by mid May.
