I said we'd lose by the odd goal, and it sounded like a better performance. It sounded like we were unlucky not to snatch a point.

Gah. Down to 19th, still six points clear. At least we didn't concede four, and gave a fight. Huge fortnight of four games: Brighton, Reading, Blackburn, Millwall, all in Lancashire.
Re: This majestical roof fretted with golden fire - Smoggies
according to ye BBC we had more shots on target than they did... yay...

I think we'll be fine(hope) I like Lennon but he's dropped a massive (ginger) bollock tonight!
Yeah we didn't concede 4 but we still rolled over and handed it to them! we didn't attack um till the last 10 minutes!

This is becoming very worrying.
We've got to stop giving stupid goals away.
Wheater pushes out to trap the lad offside. Dervite is rooted. This is basic defending. Moving as a unit.
Thankfully there are some dire teams below us.

we gave it a go
tough place to go this season
did better than what I thought we would
however, we are now looking over our shoulder
need to rectify that this weekend

Sounds like a much better spirited 2nd half performance. Most (including me) expected another four goal drubbing, so hopefully the team can kick on from this and recover some confidence.
I would imagine that NL would be quite pleased with the effort tonight.

Getting beat 1 0 at 2nd in the league . No shame in that . We had more shots on target than them . Most importantly sounds like an away performance that can be built on and I expect Lennon will be relieved to see a decent response . Sounded like we were murderkng them at the end .
On the upside had we equalised my 6 game accumilator wouldn't have come in . Didn't expect us to run them so close .

Sometimes against string opposition that's the smarter approach . Think Ali, dope on a rope .plymouth wanderer wrote:I think we'll be fine(hope) I like Lennon but he's dropped a massive (ginger) bollock tonight!

11 shots a piece
4-2 on target in favour of us.
Difference? We've got Dorian Dervite.

I'm not having that, mate. We're stuck for defenders but Dervite is the best of a bad bunch, as far as I can see.DJBlu wrote:11 shots a piece

Sorry mate.... I don't see how Heskey and Eidur made the game tighter
Clough and Alf would've offered alot more! funny how we had our best spell when those 2 were on the pitch!

Also (just by the commentary) it seemed Vela was having a bad game! see if it's verified by anyone that went!

Yep. Sounded like Dervite had a 'mare. Hope Mjallby has all the defenders in doing extra drills on how to defend as a unit...we've got to start trying to keep clean sheets!!

Fortunately, I believe Millwall are shit enough to save us. Bottom 2 are going.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Gah. Down to 19th, still six points clear. At least we didn't concede four, and gave a fight. Huge fortnight of four games: Brighton, Reading, Blackburn, Millwall, all in Lancashire.

Dervite has played well this season but his form has definitely dipped recently. The commentator had nothing good to say about him tonight.

I think we are better with one big lad up there at least to stop it conning straight back at us . I assume eidur was in to steady and organise plus to enable clough to come on fresh when they tired and be 100% for the more winnable game coming up on Saturday . Wasn't far off working . It wasn't a coincidence that clough and alf were full of running in the last 15 and Heskey stayed on .plymouth wanderer wrote:Jonah wrote:Sometimes against string opposition that's the smarter approach . I really struggle to find any saving graces in our defence. You might be right about Dervite being the best of a bad bunch, but they really are shite. As fans we've lowered the bar that far, Ream managed to make off like a bandit with the Player of the Year award last year. People must be on drugs.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm not having that, mate.
