I call that reaction the 'Hot-Tub-Time-Machine Dichotomy'. When your expectations are so low for a film you can't help but enjoy it when it turns out to not be completely terrible.wigan white wrote:Funnily enough, I watched it yesterday and completely agree with your comments. Not sure what type of accent Rose Byrne was going for though, although I can forgive her for it for being a "bit of filth"Prufrock wrote:Watched Bad Neighbours on Sunday. Not my choice, but, perhaps benefiting from massively low expectations, it was all right. Those kind of films really should be about 45 minutes long though, the one joke wears thin after that, even when it's fairly well-done.
Noticed that the guy who plays Oliver Tate in Submarine makes an appearance as 'Assjuice' in Bad Neighbo(u)rs (which I also watched recently).

Are we sure about that, Tango?TANGODANCER wrote:Had to smile a bit wryly at a question on Pointless tonight. "Identify the photographs of these One-Cap Wonders. I was expecting Michael Ricketts to pop up next.

In what way? I didn't state they played for us when capped, just that they were ex Bolton at one time. McCann was capped against Spain in 2001, and Ruddock made one full appearances in 1994?Bruce Rioja wrote:Are we sure about that, Tango?TANGODANCER wrote:Had to smile a bit wryly at a question on Pointless tonight. My memory must be worse than I thought. Do you know I was certain he had. I was mixing him up with Gerry Taggart. My error. Apologies.Bruce Rioja wrote:I didn't say that you did! Inside the commons. Not something I'd normally go out of my way to watch but found it absolutely fascinating. The access they have allowed the production team in today's world is really surprising.

Just watched the new Better Call Saul. So cool how David St Hubbins (I forget the actors real name) is in this show.

Watched The Look of Love, last night. Funny and ultimately quite sad. I find it quite difficult to see Steve Coogan as ever playing anyone other than himself though.

Well, 3 Bolton players were certainly mentioned, as the guy got SKD wrong and said Kevin Nolan. The bellend!TANGODANCER wrote:My memory must be worse than I thought. Do you know I was certain he had. Re: What are you watching tonight?
If you don't know the answer, you don't know, but......when the question on Pointless is
"What sort of music is Tammie Wynette recognised as the queen of?"
and the answer is....."Punk"....you just have to laugh.
