Quite possibly. I'll come and watch you lot even if I don't run. All bedecked in BWFC attire of course.

Got to do that if only to run in full kit wanker stylee.
Played 2 hours of 5-a-side yesterday. Mobility isn't my friend today.

That'd be funny. Pics please. Too far for me but a nice touch. Should get a few people doing that.
This weekend I have swum 1700 metres, Cycled 60km but not run a step.
Tonight I am taking a group of beginners out from work tonight so that should ease me gently into the week.

An old bloke here, setting a new world record for the 200 metres (at his age).

6.2 miles in 53 minutes last night on a hilly (Yes, I know there are no hills in London) course around Enfield/ Oakwood.
Avg. pace 8.45
Happy.

Not much. I'm uncomfortable running downhill but that's just a confidence thing. Still need to strengthen the knee muscles but I've run 3 times this week with little reaction. Going uphill is fine.

Interesting, this. Nike+ tells me that I run down Hardy Mill Road at the same pace that I run up Stitch Mi' Lane. I have this sort of fear of just opening up when running downhill. Is this normal?Gary the Enfield wrote: I'm uncomfortable running downhill but that's just a confidence thing.

Yes!
My pet theory is it's subliminally linked to the first time you tried to run down hill (perhaps in the woods up Rivvy) as a kid and got half-way before you realised you couldn't stop, eventually face-planting into a post.
By you I don't mean 'I'.

Might that not be because you ran up Stitch Mi' Lane first and were a bit fecked afterwards? That's some hill to run up btw. I'm impressed. We always ran down it during cross country at County Grammar.Bruce Rioja wrote:Interesting, this. Nike+ tells me that I run down Hardy Mill Road at the same pace that I run up Stitch Mi' Lane. I'm always very wary running down the parkrun hill. That's probably because I ran down it way too fast when I first tried out the course and was too knackered to run up cruella.

Re: The athletics/running thread
After struggling with a sore throat and cough all week, I dragged myself out this morning and was shocked and delighted in equal measure, to knock another 18 seconds off my pb, to finish in 27.55
Particularly as I tweaked something in my back running up cruella the second time around and walked for 30-40 seconds at the top of the hill.

We used to have to run up Smithills Dean Rd as part of ours, something I'm in no hurry to repeat.
Well done this morning, mate. I was shit. 40 seconds slower than last week. That said, had Our Kid not rang me up then I wouldn't have made it at all.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Bollocks. Have pulled a calf playing 5-a-side. Felt it go right where I ruptured it some years ago. I'm not bothered if I never kick a ball again but am pissed off because I won't be able to run for a wee while. Have had the frozen peas on it and now have a compression bandage on it.
Any other tips, anyone?

Anyway, how are your nipples Bruce ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
