I'd venture in most cases, that would be far sooner than a natural occurrence.Prufrock wrote:Yeah f*ck it, pick one till they die.

I love this. Get a load of this dude. He attempts to set fire to an EU flag, but fails miserably. Presumably due to EU flame-retardant regulations.

May the bridges I burn light your way

The right wing press machine appears to be cranking it up a gear now. It wasn't effective enough to win it for the Tories outright last time but with Milliband even less appealing to the electorate than Gordon Brown was (which takes some doing tbf), I can't see anything other than an outright win for them this time around

Nah, hung parliament again IMO.
Although I am concerned that a letter from 100 "business leaders" might persuade the readers of the Telegraph to vote Tory.

I think that Milliband's done alright so far. He seems to get a much harder grilling than Cameron gets, too.
Still, I suppose that Ed Balls'll be along before too long to redress any progress.

Well, it seems they're all already getting in with the cheap shots. We've had the Tories with the very dubious £3k tax raise under Labour claim. Then we've had Labour with the ridiculous 'soft on drugs' attack on the Lib Dems. I guess there's a lot more of this to come.Bruce Rioja wrote:I think that Milliband's done alright so far. I'm not sure which way this 100 business leaders letter will go... in ordinary times you'd think it would help create a climate of economic soundness around cameron and osborne... but, if handled well by Labour (a big IF!) - then it could also spawn an attitude of "yeah - dead right that a buch of grasping millionaires who have done very well on their massive bonus-rises under the Tories want more of the same!" and thus strengthen Labour's strategy of painting themselves on the side of the working poor...
I suspect the former - but the latter could be achieved with the right handling...

Try not to use or buy anything their business is involved in! That'll teach them to poke their bloody noses into politicsthebish wrote:I'm not sure which way this 100 business leaders letter will go... in ordinary times you'd think it would help create a climate of economic soundness around cameron and osborne... but, if handled well by Labour (a big IF!) - then it could also spawn an attitude of "yeah - dead right that a buch of grasping millionaires who have done very well on their massive bonus-rises under the Tories want more of the same!" and thus strengthen Labour's strategy of painting themselves on the side of the working poor...

Or get a gang of the leftie Ninja's outside their offices shaming the greedy millionaire scum

Maybe the labour party could, if elected, highly scrutinise their tax accounts

Anyone who actually reads the Telegraph (outside of some of the sports reporting) probably votes Tory anyhow...Prufrock wrote:Nah, hung parliament again IMO.

I don't think the sarcasm quite came across...Worthy4England wrote:Anyone who actually reads the Telegraph (outside of some of the sports reporting) probably votes Tory anyhow...Prufrock wrote:Nah, hung parliament again IMO.

All very nice if it didn't have, "So vote for me folks" at the end of it.thebish wrote:Big Dave's entirely not shameless "Message to Christians"

So, Mr Balls is going to reduce the 40% band by a considerable margin, whilst the Tories extend it to 50 grand. That sound you can hear is Middle England rushing to the booths to vote Conservative. I'm beginning to suspect a Conservative landslide unless Mr 'I'm Jewish but I love a bacon butty' pulls something out of the fire quickly.
Personally, I haven't had as wage rise since 2009, I'm £122 a month worse off due to tax and pension changes than last year and the health sector where I work, is in chaos. Despite all of that, I just can't seem to see the 2 Ed's as anything like credible leaders and The LibDems are looking at being almost completely wiped out. In addition, I'm convinced both of them will make me even poorer and the health sector even worse.
Choices, choices.

Sounds like a terrible move. That band has already crept down YoY as the tax free allowance has gone up, add the fiscal drag to that and in real terms people could be considerably worse off.Bijou Bob wrote:So, Mr Balls is going to reduce the 40% band by a considerable margin, whilst the Tories extend it to 50 grand. I'm similar in that I'm not going to vote for the Tories and Labour aren't really looking good, neither are the LibDems, I'm definitely not going to vote UKIP so my options are very limited. Greens have some success in this area so it's not a completely wasted vote.Bijou Bob wrote:I just can't seem to see the 2 Ed's as anything like credible leaders and The LibDems are looking at being almost completely wiped out.
