If we stay up we have done well with a budget of zero
Not sure. Re-signed or resigned?

If Lennon stays all season, we will be promoted.
Re: Season 2015/16 - What does it hold in store?
Holden & Vela bossing the midfield.
Clough getting booted off the park once every 2 months
3-5-2 über alles
Jack Dearden vocally falling over himself, showing off his ability to perform a simple alveolar trill at every conceivable opportunity
13,000+ blue seats
The naughty corner relocating to the other corner to be closer to the opposition fans (probably not)
Heskey & Gudjohnsen vines
Not even 15 seconds on the Football League show for over 30% of our matches
YouTube highlights the following morning!
Fulham FC bringing a following of 54
Three New Kits
Should we line up 4-4-2 (heaven forbid), 80% of the defensive unit will be made up of new personnel
Conor Wilkinson loaned out again.
Tom Eaves becomes club ambassador
Zico & Lee lead the lads to the Emirates FA Youth Cup quarters where they are beaten by a CFC team of which none of the playing staff are from the big smoke.
Coyle goes into broadcasting.
Megson's garden finally starts to bloom.

Lennon makes half a dozen signings. One or two are excellent, one or two average, one or two suck. We start the season with promise but still rarely put in a 90-minute performance, so we're top-10 rather than top-6 – until we win four of six unbeaten games, to get in the mix. Then Clough gets injured, and we win one in six to drop to mid-table. People blame Freedman, a1 says Coyle was worse and Lord Kangana replies that Megson was worse still.

now that sounds pretty much on the mark!

R5 had some kind of an election thing from Bolton today - being as it is a key marginal seat..
I caught the end of a little Q&A with Lennony - they must have brought him in for a light relief!
anyway - the last question was summat like "what has been your best achievement in football?"
his answer was beating Barcelona in the Champions League... he added "I'd like to do that with Bolton..."
so - aiming high!

the league table is enough progress for me, if you miss that go and ask your doctor for a prescription of carrots.Enoch wrote:I think we sold one player and gave a few away we didn't want. Injuries are not a Bolton phenomenon, they happen at all clubs.
That just leaves the other twenty six games then.
.
I don't see that pointing out our shortcomings is trolling, folk seemed to enjoy the pastime up until last October. It appears to me that in our last seventeen league games, since the beginning of February, we have amassed seventeen points.
Just saying like.
are you really saying we judge lennon after half a season? what did you expect to happen?

They don't count, all triallists really, he's not contracted anyone for next season yet. It's been a bit like watching an extended period of pre season friendlies. Will be more interesting to see who he gives proper contracts too. I think he has a lot more leeway than freedman had in terms of clearout.
...
Re: Season 2015/16 - What does it hold in store?
aye - t'will be a fascinating summer... as DSB suggests, I think it'll be a mixed bag of incomings, some will pay off, some will suck bad... in our position, that's inevitable.
Re: Season 2015/16 - What does it hold in store?
Indeed, we are now close to being free of Premiership contracts, including the ones handed out to a Championship squad; I imagine that makes it easier to move on players the manager doesn't fancy. I fear that may not make it any easier for Lennon to recruit the players he wants.LeverEnd wrote: I think he has a lot more leeway than freedman had in terms of clearout.
As with Freedman, or indeed most managers, Lennon may well find himself looking longingly through the window at Waitrose on his way to Aldi.
For the sake of accuracy, did he not give a proper contract to Twardzik?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Season 2015/16 - What does it hold in store?
I'd argue that some of these players were more of a case of simply getting bodies in rather than players Lennon specifically wanted... It's usually pretty difficult to get outright transfer targets in the January window. Loan market as well is always a case of bringing in what you can get basically, so I'd give Lennon the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do in the summer.Enoch wrote:Like I said:plymouth wanderer wrote:Looking forward to him putting his own stamp on the club next seasonSome might think he'd already done that.Enoch wrote:I think we sold one player and gave a few away we didn't want.
