Sweatshop do. Not sure if they are up there. There are Nike shops that do gait analysis - perhap in the Trafford Centre? What about Len Tobutts or maybe Decathlon?
Tobbutts do. They charge you for it but knock the cost off any trainers you subsequently buy from them.
that's to stop scallies like Enfield going in and getting their gait analysis done for free - then buggering off and buying trainers of the internet! :D

Very tempted to enter the Bolton 10k next weekend, if I can sort myself out with some proper fitting trainers. The standard of marshalling is putting me off though!

Last night's track session:

3 x 400m warm up
4 x 800m effort (5k pace) 200m jog recovery
800m jog
4 x 400m effort (5k pace) 100m jog recovery
800m jog
4 x 200m effort (mile pace) 100m jog recovery
3 x 400m warm down

My average for the 800's was 3min 50 secs.
My average for the 400's was 1min 45 secs.
My average for the 200's was 42 secs

5.6 km effort
8.6 km overall

Run to and from the track too so probably 10. 5 km in total.

Quite pleased with that. My knee's a bit stiff this morning but otherwise good.

Not too shabby that fella. Sounds like you're getting back to your best.

I managed a weary 5 miles over winter hill yesterday. At some point I'm going to have to try it in full kit wan*er style before the Gary Speed run :D

Cheers. Shame I can't join you. You'll piss the 10km if you're doing 5 miles over the tops.

Day off today so took myself off around Rivington. 8.5 muddy and wet miles with no ill effects. Pace is way off at the moment though. Any of the regulars up for park run this coming weekend?

I'll be there Harry and also in attendance for breakfast afterwards. Maybe we could do a bit of planning for the 10k in July?

Did my first 'foreign' PR at the weekend at Great Notley, near Braintree. Got overtaken by a bloke wearing a Bournemouth shirt. My Wanderers shirt attracted a few comments, all of which were good natured piss taking tbf, which was reciprocated!

Park run's not park run without brekky :D . Yes, good chance to sort the 10k out too.

Folk often say Boltons park run is one of the tougher ones. How did it compare to Braintree?

Braintree was a doddle by comparison. An incline at the start, which was weird in itself, as most of the runners had to turn through 90 degrees just to get to the start line. :? Other than that, it was virtually all flat with the exception of one hill, which wasn't a patch on cruella. Had to run through a sandpit at one point, which was a little odd.

It was good to see the parkrun 'vibe' replicated at another venue. I ran with my sister in law who was a first timer. She loved the whole PR atmosphere. I think she will probably go again, whenever she can.

The Park Runs near me are pretty flat too. Once a month we host a 5km race which is a bit more challenging. There are 2 hills on the course and some looooong inclines. I like Bolton Park Run as it has a decent hill in it.

Looking forward to catching up with you all next time I'm up (probably July now)

Did my first Aquathlon of the season last night.

500m open water swim followed by a 5.5k run round the park.

Swim (including transition) 13.45
Run 28.52
Overall 42:37

Not bad. However I don't understand as I finished ahead of someone else from my club after overtaking him on the run and yet he finished 6 minutes AHEAD of me. Stewards
enquiry I think.

One of the things that puts me off triathlons, apart from the swimming and cycling  , are those where everyone sets off at different times. As a spectator, and I imagine as a competitor, it's frustrating not knowing who's doing well and who's struggling.

You're recovery from injury is going really well G. Still think you'll need a good breakfast inside you after you make the next park run :P

Yes, dodgy calf. Plus a marked lack of effort to sort it out!
