Today I'm happy about getting out of the sand pit for a while. Leave for the airport in a few hours and heading to the Maldives

made me smile today! (bit of a long story - but the upshot is...)
the daughter is revising at uni for her 1st yr psychology exams and has decided it might help to draw plague-doctor cartoons and add speech bubbles of some of the stuff she has to remember!
so this appeared on her fb...

How refereshing!! it's like how ace it is when you stop smashing your head against a wall!
woke up to the radio alarm (R5) to hear NO ELECTION INTERVIEWS at all - nothing - zilch! Instead, a lovely story about 92yr old Joy Lofthouse who used fly (among other planes) Spitfires in the Air Transport Auxiliary. They took her up in a spitfire again - briefly giving her the controls and then interviewed her about it... great stuff! (she and her sister Yvonne both flew Spitfires - the only sisters to do so, I believe)

This is clearly election related. They're just warming up for the Civil War with Scotland as Hoboh suggests.thebish wrote:How refereshing!! it's like how ace it is when you stop smashing your head against a wall!

Re: Today I'm happy about......
After lengthy waits for appointments and tests etc, I finally had my bona-fide hearing test up at Minerva Mansions (otherwise known as Bolton Hospital) today. Was on time, quite painless,
totally efficient and helpful lady audiologist (ahem) and now, I'm supposedly just a couple of weeks away from my all-singing, all-dancing, super duper hearing aids.
Pardon?

I discovered today (when my mate informed my Mum over lunch) that there is a place on the northern Irish Coast called Muff. As if this isn't funny enough, this organisation provides one of the recreational options there...

Happy Mother's Day to her anyway. I wonder how she would feel about place names in Newfoundland.LeverEnd wrote:I discovered today (when my mate informed my Mum over lunch) that there is a place on the northern Irish Coast called Muff. Oh yes. Muff is on the way to my friend's house out in Donegal. It's on Lough Foyle and a beautiful little town about 10km outside of Derry.
They keep their bushes very trim and have lovely manicured lawns.........

Bastard. You've just made me piss my sides in the office, thus drawing attention to the fact that I'm clearly doing no work.LeverEnd wrote:I discovered today (when my mate informed my Mum over lunch) that there is a place on the northern Irish Coast called Muff.
