Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

QPR. Doesn't get better than this. £40 Million fine was it that they refused to pay. They'll get their comeuppance now. Hoping for administration and an open door to Div 1. Now let them say they share the same area with Chelsea. :oyea: 8) :pissed:

It appears they felt that on getting promoted the rules changed and they ducked the issue. That's not gone away .... and all the more so now they are back in the Football League.

Oooops.

"the club’s financial accounts for the 2013-14 season when they were in the Championship, filed at Companies House on Friday, show that their ‘real’ losses last season were almost £70m. The Football League’s complex FFP rules are designed to discourage rich owners buying success and endangering the health of their clubs. A tariff of fines is in place for clubs that massively overspend.

Earlier this month, QPR announced they had made a loss of £9.8m but the accounts now prove the smaller loss figure was only possible because of owners — mainly Tony Fernandes — wrote off £60m of old loans in an ‘exceptional item’ in the accounts.

Effectively, QPR counted that write-off as extra income. But that money is noted in the accounts as being a ‘related-party transaction’ — and the Football League’s own FFP regulations explicitly rule out related party moves of the kind QPR have undertaken, to prevent ‘artificially’ lowered losses. If the League decide QPR’s ‘real’ losses are £69.8m, the FFP fine they potentially face will be £57.9m.

QPR declined to comment and remain in talks with the Football League. Whatever is decided, refusal to pay a fine could result in their expulsion to non-League football."
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

As amusing as that would be, there is no way they will end up in non-league. Some compromise will be reached which will involve a fine but partially condone their disregard for the rules. I hope not. I want to see them do battle with Tranmere.

Steeeevieee Gee showing what an absolutely classless c*nt he is. Subbed off 15 mins from the end and Chelsea fans applaud him. When asked about his reception, he added that he was more concerned about the applause from Liverpool fans. I hate this bloke more and more every day. Scouse c*nt!

Funny that, a classless man that Liverpool Captain may be in certain aspects, but to deride him for not showing any kind of respect to opposition fans who have goaded him, often nastily, throughout his whole career is a bit much! Ain't no way i'd be full of beans for Chelsea fans if I was in his boots.

One classless c*nt not responding to a stadium with a good proportion of classless c*nts. Don't spill your milk mate. Stamford Bridge ain't exactly awash with integrity...

And this is why I can't get excited about a takeover. Much less a consortium.

Jermaine Jenas did an article on the beebs website about what had gone wrong at QPR. If you had the misfortune to read it, it was certainly one the most cowardly articles I've ever read. To sum up - it definitely wasn't Harry Redknapps fault, it wasn't the fault of any of the players Jermaine played with but it was the fault of the owners and one or two unnamed bad eggs in the squad

Rumours going around that Jake Livermore has failed a drugs test for cocaine, and could be banned for two years. Am I missing a sporting argumenti don't know about or is that mad?

That's the known penalty.

Unless you're concerned that he may have slipped and accidentally shot some white opiate based powder up his nose as he fell then that's what he should expect for snorting coke as a pro footballer. Is there a problem with that ?

Maybe "legal types in the City" see it as OK ? It's not.

Then get the police involved. I don't get why there's a sporting ban.

It's a stimulant and on the performance-enhancing drugs list. I doubt he took it as such, but it carries the standard ban that he'd get for EPO or steroids I think.

I always wonder whether people who feel aggrieved by drug penalties and controls do because it could affect them.
