Where are you going tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Tonight, I'm off to a music venue/bar in Manchester called 'Soup Kitchen' where pints of lager are upwards of £4 and there are no handouts, to watch former Oceansize singer and guitarist VENNART play some songs with his new band.

I saw some shit Geordie rock band there about a year ago in the grubby basement. If it had been less well lit and the band better, it could have been atmospheric perhaps. Hope it's good.

It is by far and away my least favourite venue in Manchester, and last night it was Sold Out.

Good gig, but the drummer was too loud man. Bashing the feck out out of the kit like he was un-mic'd at the Apollo rather than actually mic'd up in front of bout 150 people in a damp cellar. Couldn't be sure if his hi-hats were individually mic'd or not but they sure as shit didn't need to be!

Fecking great band mind.

Went watching Alabama Shakes at The Apollo on Saturday night. Without a shadow of a doubt one of the finest bunch of musicians that I've ever seen. I didn't know a single song by them but it mattered not one jot. Absolutely superb.

Tonight: Mew at the Ritz in Manchester. Danish Dream Pop.

What? Love The Garage!

Seen loads of great bands there. Small, cramped and sweaty gig and rarely a queue for the bar.

That's what I mean. It's grim and horrible and excellent for it! They have the little side pub-bar thing that's sometimes open that no-one seems to know about too (despite having to walk past it to get in). Dead easy to get served there.

That's exactly what I mean. And most of the bands I've seen there end up in that front bar for an impromptu meet'n'greet.

Just opposite the tube too so no missed trains. For me it's one of the best venues in London. That and the KOKO club in Camden

I thought it was alright to be honest. Last time I was there was about 2004 for Mastodon and Oceansize on back-to-back nights. Back then I didn't think much of it but I thought it was decent last night. Sounded good and that's all that mattered to me!

Still not been to the KOKO.

Opposite Mornington Crescent. Some good pubs nearby too. Set on 3 (maybe 4) levels you're never short of a view or barspace.

I went to Camden Rocks Festival last May Bank Holiday (2014) I saw Ginger Wildheart and The Graveltones in the Jazz Café. Stood upstairs on the balcony over the stage. Great little venue again.

God I need a night out in Camden!

Never made it into the Jazz Cafe. Tend to be shambling my way past it, up the hill, to watch something horrible at the Dublin Castle.

KOKO is all right, can usually see. Shepherd's Bush Empire is one of the best for that in that the stalls slope so short-arse girlfs can see from the back. S'all about the Roundhouse for me, even if they have put in a wanky "real ale" bar with a commensurate huge queue and the normal bars not selling a drop of anything vaguely proper. Draft Speckled Hen was the best I could find. Tasted like John Smiths. Not a fan.

We made an evening of it yesterday and went to the Trafford Centre Odeon to watch Spooks then a meal at La Tasca.

We are both big fans of the TV series, Spooks, and the film more than lived up to expectations with the requisite number of twists and turns in what we both thought was a decent plot.
