Well, "today" rather than "tonight". Chelsea Flower Show. A long held ambition of Mrs clown.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

^ we are regulars at the RHS Tatton Park. Well worth a visit!
Re: Where are you going tonight?
The Octagon last night for Jim Cartwright's latest play The Ancient Secret of Youth and The Five Tibetans. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy it. It started promisingly enough but felt contrived and stilted with long monologues instead of flowing dialogue and I thought the second half was overly melodramatic. At one point I envied the slumbering Bruce Rioja sitting next to me.
The performances were good, especially the guy who played Henry, but ultimately of you're not keen on the material it doesn't make much difference.
Ironically after criticising the lengthy speeches in the play, I really enjoyed the separate monologue about Bolton afterwards, which was touching, engaging and magnificently performed by one of the younger actors from the play. Bravo the writers, William The White and Ever So Youri.

Just been to The Lowry with WtW to see To Kill a Mockingbird. Absolutely superb. I've been waiting to see a live production of this for yonks and the wait was easily worth it. The bloke playing Atticus Finch was born to play the part. Especially pleasing after the general disappointment of Jim Cartwright's latest offering at The Octagon the night before, as detailed by LE above.

Went to the Austerity event in town this afternoon. Manchester behaved itself and there wasn't a hint of trouble. Some interesting and passionate speakers plus a bit of entertainment. I was trying to keep a bit of a low profile but there I was plain as day on the BBC news tonight

Following the flower show we stated with #2 son. Very enjoyable. The very first time we've stayed with one of our kids rather than them with us.
Walked my back legs off but had a great time discovering parts of London I'd only ever read the names of. A little like a cross between my own game of Monopoly and 'Oranges & Lemons'.
Yesterday went to Greenwich. Another first. Highly impressive.

Oh, good God! Now I'm in Socialist Worker! I've only ever been to two demos (on this side of the lines) and now I've been in The Manc Evening News, the BBC local news and now SW. You keep up your anti-austerity protests, you that retired at 52 on a final salary pension. You whose greed is so great that you've gone on to augment your income with this Insurance work.
