Re: Summer Holidays
Anyone planning to go to the likes of Turkey, Tunisia or Egypt this year? all popular destination with UK package holiday makers.
Mrs has been trying to book our jols, shes sending me deals to these places amongst others, ive told her to forget it!
ISIS will blow these places up soon, or at least start lobbing a few heads off!? thats my concern anyway.

Sadly General, I suspect you're right. Think I'd be stopping in Europe, but avoiding southern Italy!

I've told the girl to forget non-Europe too!

Re: Summer Holidays
We're in Skiathos in four weeks. That's northern Aegean so not expecting any related problems. Daughter is off to Crete though at this very moment, and to Loutro on the south coast, just across the Libyan sea. As an aside, she just texted me to inform that she cleared check-in and security inside 20 minutes at Manc airport! A far cry from last year when we ended up legging it away from security as we heard a 'last call' on our flight having arrived 15 minutes before our check-in actually opened.

This year I'll be mostly golfing in Marbella. Buddy Boy and I are are also discussing a French canal boat tour to include several vineyards. ISIS can go feck themselves!

May the bridges I burn light your way

We went on holiday to Jordan and Syria in the late 90s and spent a couple of wonderful nights in Palmyra. Can't imagine we'll ever get back there

You say that Bruce, but an armed militia was discovered in a sleepy (tiny) village up the road from us just a couple of years ago. Beware the French countryside!Bruce Rioja wrote:This year I'll be mostly golfing in Marbella. Buddy Boy and I are are also discussing a French canal boat tour to include several vineyards. You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Nearly Mrs Bob has booked a week away for my birthday in ten weeks time. She won't tell me where but has let slip that we're flying. I'm like a 4 year old on Christmas Eve.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I think Blackpool Airport has closed for commercial flights so I think you are fine.Bijou Bob wrote:I'll be pished off if it is Bobo, she's missed the bloody TT!
Maybe she has paid for you to have a go in one of those flying suits from the top of a mountain?

Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Summer Holidays
Blackpool is apparently back open for Isle of Man and Dublin flights. Fingers crossed Jet2 come back, it made life soooo much easier. I hate Manchester airport.

Re: Summer Holidays
Me too these days, but (as previously mentioned) daughter says she recently got through check-in and security in 20 minutes so maybe it has improved recently. I'll be there in three weeks but Cosmos is really messing us around! They have cancelled our original flights and placed us with some no mark Polish outfit who have no UK base and as far as I can ascertain do not fly to our destination! Plus we have a stop in mainland Greece on the return. A right Magical Mystery Tour coming up!Bijou Bob wrote:Blackpool is apparently back open for Isle of Man and Dublin flights. Re: Summer Holidays
I did Liverpool to Jersey last weekend, no problem at all either way. Definitely bears going through Manc.
