Based on us getting this transfer, which we've just been beaten to by a team one Division down from us.You'll all be begging me to accept your apologies at the end of this title winning season!
What does Plan B look like?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Hmmm...Either we have found someone else who we prefer at CH or have given Pratley some of the wages earmarked for Morgan to keep him here or Morgan has no ambition. Which is it?bobo the clown wrote:This Carlsberg stuff can go feck itself.
Bloody hell Plymouth, you have a lot to answer for ...
Wigan Athletic have pipped Bolton to the free transfer of Rotherham United defender Craig Morgan, who has signed a two-year contract

Or, Morgan took a look at who he'd be cleaning up after and thought better of itirie Cee Bee wrote:Hmmm...Either we have found someone else who we prefer at CH or have given Pratley some of the wages earmarked for Morgan to keep him here or Morgan has no ambition. Who gives a fcuk about Morgan....
I bet no one even knew who he was a few months ago - a Rotherham CB who has decided to go to a team a league below both us & Rotherham, says it all really.
Lucky escape IMO, there will be other very average CB's available this summer I'm sure

If Lenin fancied him there must be a reason but I just hope he's not wasted much time or lost other targets in the doing.

Unless we re-sign Willie Morgan to feed Eidur and Emile, I'm going to have to get the lettering changed on my Bolton top. I'm outraged. And it's all Plymouth's fault.

Never seen him play myself but a few of my United supporting mates reckong he's a decent talent for this sort of level. 22, young, hungry and probably not expecting massive wages (like Amos). Could be worth a punt given that it's a free?
He's a good player by all accounts. However, he wouldn't be free as we'd have to pay United 'training compensation', and that alone probably rules us out.

Does that apply even if they're released?
Used to only have to pay the fee if their club had offered them a contract they'd turned down (like Ings at Burnley, say).

Any news on where Manyor Figueroa is headed this summer. Released by Hull, 32, but I'd go in for him, although didn't see much of him last season. Plays left, or centre back and should offer us more quality at the back.
Played for Wigan, twice, so knows the area. A former Heskey team-mate.
Reckon we could afford his wages?

What odds do you think I'd get on Manyor Figueroa's agent being called Bobby?

My mate, who's a Wigan fan (also knows some club officials well) says we pulled out of the Morgan deal rather than him dumping us for Latics. He's not sure why we pulled out as his medical went fine.

That's interesting!wigan white wrote:My mate, who's a Wigan fan (also knows some club officials well) says we pulled out of the Morgan deal rather than him dumping us for Latics. He's not sure why we pulled out as his medical went fine.
To get some debate going, could it be:
(a) we are skint and couldn't afford his wages.
(b) investment has happened but being kept quiet and we have new and better targets.
(c) still the same but a better target has been identified.

I'd like to think (b) but I really couldn't say. I'd say it's not (a) as the deal would've fell apart earlier if we couldn't afford him.jaffka wrote:That's interesting!wigan white wrote:My mate, who's a Wigan fan (also knows some club officials well) says we pulled out of the Morgan deal rather than him dumping us for Latics.
