Another midweek 10k and another improvement. Hoping to get below 48 minutes. Two years ago I did 46.33

Managed to stay with a group looking to do sub 47 minutes last night. That is, until 8k when they started to pull away. Managed to finish in 47.54 which I'm massively pleased with.

I've now got less than 24 hours before I'm starting my Olympic distance triathlon in Rutland Water (Dambuster) but feeling very happy about my (near) return to form.

Good luck to you who are doing Park Run tomorrow and/or Horwich Festival of Speed on Sunday

Anyway .... Mo Farrah. Discuss
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

What's to discuss? :conf:

It's been made clear he is in no way implicated in the doping scandal with his coach and training partner. He has missed one test whilst under the guide of Salazar and has been cleared of any impropriety by the anti-doping agency.

Nothing to see here. The sport maybe dirty but I don't believe Mo Farah is.

One was before he joined Salazar, hence the distinction.

Oh. OK then.

Just so long as there's "nothing to see here", I guess not looking is for the best then.

Do you know or suspect otherwise?

If so, what do you know or suspect?

Got bored watching Masterchef last night, so went out for a 21:30 5K. Parkrun tomorrow. Furthermore I'm trying to wriggle my way out of a midlands bunfight on Saturday night so that I can do the Horwich thang (inc Penders' barrel o' bitter) on Sunday. :)

^ :D I was just thinking where's he got that additional pace from?!!

I'm paying the price for pushing it at the track on Tuesday. A tweaked hamstring knackered up any chance I had of competing Thursday, Saturday or Sunday as planned. I'll be there Sunday though just to boo BP  and have a glass of LE's Silt & Sediment :pissed:

I think I'll stick the tried, tested and trusted way of obtaining a better time at tomorrow's Parkrun which is to get absolutely wankered tonight. You should try it. :pissed:

Well that's not very nice!

So it's just me running on Sunday then? Oh well, at least i'll have worked up a thirst for LE's Flat Cap, by the time that I eventually finish!

Well, the Friday evening the tactic of skulling a bottle of Chianti prior to going over to the pub to watch a band appears to have paid of once again. A new PB it is then (For the new course) :pissed:

BP - Harry can boo at the pair of us - I'll do it with you, mate.

Nice one! I was 32 seconds outside mine after setting off far too quickly and burning out by the time I hit Cruella second time around.

Tomorrow should be easier. Someone please tell me that it will be!

I find Lucozade much cheaper than Chianti but whatever works for you :D Seriously though well done fella

BP - I suspect it's an easier course but you'll have to offset that against racing hard on 2 consecutive days. I was worried for you this morning when I saw it was raining
