Jimmy Hogan

Post by ahtreport » Wed Jun 24, 2015 6:43 pm

Hello all,

Just thought some of you might be interested on this piece about ex-Bolton inside forward Jimmy Hogan.

Hogan played 54 times for Bolton, ending his career with the club, and went on to become one of the most important men in shaping the way in which the game is played as a manager, particularly on the continent, yet he receives very little recognition here in the UK.

I'm sure some of you already knew about him but those who don't might enjoy this read.

Cheers!

All new stuff for me. I can't make this bit out.
Hogan, Reynolds and Buckingham have all had cataclysmic influences upon the beautiful game.
The article is about the importance of these three men to continental football. What was the author intending when he used the adjective cataclysmic?

I believe Hogan's impact was touched upon in Inverting the Pyramid as well... great book if you haven't read it already.

Well, I suppose cataclysms are big but surely in a very negative way....

You're right, I had used the word to mean large/big but certainly there weren't any negative connotations so I've amended the mistake, cheers.

Hope you enjoyed the article barring the mistake, and shall see you all next season (Hull City fan), hoping we have a more luck at your place than we did last time out!

Must put it up for sale
