He also says Derik Osede's medical is this afternoon. Very excited about signing him. Sounds like a classy player, and somewhat of a coup if he signs.

There are some others from the (Gordon) Strachan Football Foundation playing too including Sean (I think) Conaboy who played in the first 45m.Little Green Man wrote:Seems to be a youngster from Antiguoko, Real Sociedad's feeder team.Bijou Bob wrote:Marc Iles has just tweeted that a Spanish trials John Ceberio is starting for us v Atherton cols today. I did a bit of a google earlier and according to this site the last time we received a decent fee for a player was that season. Chungy was a loss (think we signed him for about £2.5m), Ngog was a massive loss, Sordell/Eagles loss etc all the way back to that 11/12 window.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Cahill and Ali Al Habsi went in the same window. Off the top of my head all the rest have either made a loss (e.g. Chungy) or gone on a free.
Nominal frequently means there's not so much a fee as that the 'buying' club covers the debts owed to the player - outstanding wages, laughable "loyalty" bonuses, etc - all the clauses a club agrees to when it's doe-eyed and in love.
See, I don't disappoint.

Am I making it up or did we sell a kid for a couple of thousand recently?

I thought we had sold Wilkinson & Odelusi, but then Wilko played today. Were they both just rumours?Prufrock wrote:Am I making it up or did we sell a kid for a couple of thousand recently?

BEN says (tucked away in the match report) that the Wilkinson deal has fallen through.throwawayboltonian wrote:Last I heard they were both "set to leave" i.e. in talks with other clubs, but nothing official.freeindeed wrote:I thought we had sold Wilkinson & Odelusi, but then Wilko played today. Didn't the Bucket Shakers win something similar a good few years ago? I think Coca Cola coughed up the dough at the time. Possibly. Maybe. They spent the money on Colin Kazim-Richards iirc.ChrisC wrote:we might have 250k incoming.
A Bolton fan has made it to the final of the Sky competition where a fan wins 250k for their football league club. We have a 1 in 10 chance of being pulled out of the hat.
Draw takes place 10th July.

Meh. I'd prefer it if it was Campo !!freeindeed wrote:Derik Osede with his coach![]()
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I've seen wilkinson 4 or 5 times and tried to look for the positives but thought he was just shite really. And he gave an interview in which he came across as a complete dick. I'm all for supporting young players normally but I really have taken a dislike to the guy. Sooner rid the better for me.

allegedly we are interested and so are Leeds - and we've nipped in first - having already talked to him (and offered him a large bag of Pickled Onion Monster Munch and a bumper box of felt pens)
I can't see this happening as Leeds have just bought Chris Wood for around £3.5m and seem to be loaded.
Blackburn have now allegedly joined the "race" for his signature...

Latest gossip from The Oracle.
Chris Kirkland training with us at the moment and Notts Forest are also interested in Ryan Taylor.

Sort of what Freedman did here, with Palace as the target.throwawayboltonian wrote:Wouldn't mind Kirkland as cover, he used to be a good keeper prior to his many injuries. If he does come here hopefully it'll be on a low wage due to his injury proneness.malcd1 wrote:Latest gossip from The Oracle.

And what's Forest's transfer plan? Sign ex-Bolton players, and go after their targets?
... & yes, Kirkland. There'd be far worse around.
