^^ as you say, a real 'Darwin' contender.

wtf would cross someone's mind to do that ?

Fireworks, other than for 'official' or 'licensed' displays, have been banned in N.S.W. for yonks. It doesn't stop the silly people from picking them up from the A.C.T. where they are still legal. The reason for the ban of course was the horrendous number of injuries caused by them each 'cracker night'. Although my children loved them (no, they were not allowed to light them) on balance I believe making them illegal was a good thing.

Pretty much the same here, Dujon, although the reason was more the danger of fires than personal injury. However, each summer we have the biggest International firework competition in the world (every Wednesday and Saturday in July) Then on Canada Day (July 1) many municipalities put on firework displays. So there is no shortage of quite spectacular firework shows for children of all ages to watch.

Every Bommy week we used to launch a firework assault on Su's chippy, including sending him into the back for a can of pop whilst placing bangers (proper ones that used to explode) in his curry sauce, gray and peas. fecking mint! :D

Absolutely fecking brilliant. Should this man in his helium-levitated chair find his way to Harwood then there's a pint behind the bar for him in the No Name!

 Absolutely outstanding behaviour. :pissed:

I worked for 20 years for a Company which supplied Helium. The number of daft requests we'd get for japes like this you wouldn't believe.

Usually associated with the phrase " ... it's for Charity" we got some awful slagging for declining.

One theatre group wanted a huge number of bottles so the 7 dwarves could inhale and talk in a high pitched voice throughout their 26 night performances.

And it was your duty to meet those requests, you miserable c*nts. What other possible uses are there for helium other than for top japery? And Branson can go feck himself with his balloon. He's way down the order. :)

^^^ "Yes. I've done my calculations. With my weight and the usual prevailing wind at 15mph I will need 1,272 balloons of X size, inflated with y amount of helium to go from Llandudno to Dublin ... allowing for 10% wastage. It's for charity you know".

Right-ho then. Sounds like you have all the bases covered there.

We were actually contacted by BBC (Wales .... so doesn't count for anything) about our refusal for that one. I was forced to justify it on h&s grounds when, in fact, I wanted to use words like "fckg idiot".

Haha. I think I've mentioned this before, however, when I used to work for a purveyor of fish oil which took its brand name from then end product being the inventor's 40th attempt at displacing water, we once ran a consumer promotion asking end users for their unusual uses for our product. We then had to issue a flurry of letters to people basically saying "For feck's sake, don't do that!!!"

I reckon that for the full house we'd have to turn that hand upside down and also write at the top of that sticker 'Gunga Din Says' :D

Ha! I saw that on an Alan Partridge fan page the other day as a reference to the quote
"Scope? Why do they change the name and ruin it? Consignia and Scope. It’s the Post Office and the Spastic Society."

My Grandma used to have a moneybox very similar to that (minus the bottom bit!). No idea what happened to it.

Fckg hell Bruce, I hope to God that's just a photo and not brought into the office.

I'm far from PC & I can normally concoct a defence, or an attack, on anything but "temporary madness" would be your only option for that one.
