I'd say it had. FirstlyBruce Rioja wrote:Here you go again, Know All. Has it ever entered your head that some people are circumcised for medical reasons? Thought not. I am.Prufrock wrote: Firstly there's the medical question. I think Bob slightly over-egged it to say there's no medical evidence, but there's not much. Much like the issues of climate change and animal slaughter, the majority if not all of the "evidence" saying circumcision has health benefits comes in reports commissioned by interest groups or with their support, so I'm far from convinced!
And secondly, because so am I!Given that I also wrote:It's indisputable for example that circumcision is justified in specific cases as treatment for specific conditions and so would be perfectly acceptable as a medical procedure to treat phimosis for example. The issue is whether it's justified as a general preventative procedure. The only quibble I have with Bob's initial post is that I think there is "almost no" evidence that it has health benefits as a general preventative measure, rather than "no"!
It's pretty common I think. I was pretty open with people about why I was wincing every time I walked for three weeks and found out two of my close mates had had it done too.
Having it done to solve an existing problem is different than having it done as a routine matter where there is very shaky evidence if any to suggest it prevents anything.

Absolutely. I should have read the entire thread prior to posting - I just picked up on a point where it looked like you were going off on one, which isn't entirely unusual.Prufrock wrote: Having it done to solve an existing problem is different than having it done as a routine matter where there is very shaky evidence if any to suggest it prevents anything.

Tossing of a coin, one person turning their back while everyone was given a number, steps, first dibs, eeny meeny. I played umpteen different sports and games and can honestly say never were sides picked on the basis of everyone getting their cock outMontreal Wanderer wrote:Worthy mentioned more than 50% in America are circumcised. However, in the 1950s when I was a school in Hale, Cheshire one quick way of selecting teams for our various games was simply to play Roundheads against Cavaliers. The teams came out surprisingly equal although I doubt our Jewish pupil population was above 5%.

It's like having a roll of banknotes the girth of which could choke a donkey, being rich beyond the dream of avarice, a veritable fortune, yet only having a modest purse.bobo the clown wrote:^^^^ NOW you have to tell us what those "medical reasons" are.
.... & frankly I'm not sure I'm up to knowing.
OK, it's just like having a purse that's too small to house one's modest income.

It was an honour system, Harry, so no physical proof required. Though I suppose these things could be checked in the event of a peremptory challenge (which never occurred).Harry Genshaw wrote:Tossing of a coin, one person turning their back while everyone was given a number, steps, first dibs, eeny meeny. Michael Barry more, the obnoxious, talentless knob, is suing the Police for arresting him and damaging his career after a man died in his pool following a serious sexual assault.
If I recall, the sh2t house ran away after the body was found and gave several no comment interviews to the cops at the time. He still hasn't fully accounted for what went on that night. I hope the Cops lawyers take him to the feckin cleaners.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Angry ? Sad really.
I read today that FAO Schwarz, the toy shop on 5th Avenue NYC, on the corner of 5th & 59th, by the SE corner of Central Park is to shut this week.
Iconic in the true sense of the modern use of the word, it has "starred" in numerous films ... 'Big' and 'Home Alone' come immediately to mind.
How does this affect me, really ? Not a jot. It just is another emblem of life disappearing and will never return. Sad, that's all.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Bolton News wrote:A 91-YEAR-OLD was punched in the face and robbed by a young woman in Bolton town centre.
The attack happened just before 8.50am this morning as the victim was walking down Moor Lane.
She was approached by a woman in her twenties, who hit her in the face and snatched her purse before running away towards Paderborn Court.
The woman is described as white and of slim build and was wearing a grey woollen hat, grey trousers and a short, dark-coloured coat.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the “contemptible” crime and said the elderly woman is “extremely distressed”.
The attack happened as thousands of people flocked to the town centre for the Ironkids fun runs, which began at 8am this morning.
Detective Inspector Martin Reddington said: “This was a targeted attack on a woman in her nineties, who the offender knew wouldn’t be able to defend herself.
“Targeting an elderly lady in this way is a contemptible and cowardly thing to do and I would urge anyone who knows the identity of the person responsible to call us.
“Fortunately, the woman was not seriously injured but she is understandably extremely distressed by what happened.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened and if you have any information at all, I would ask that you contact police."
Anyone with information should phone the police on 856 5608,101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

^^^^ It's staggeringly simple. Catch her and throw her in Doffcocker Lodge with chains weighing her down.
Or is that just a bit extreme ?

Cats. Always found them to be fluffy, harmless, poor substitutes for dogs. Until 3 moved in next door. Every day I'm picking up their poop from the garden, mainly to stop my dog from eating it
and now this morning I've got up to what looks like a wild pillow fight in the garden. Some poor bird has met its maker and no doubt I'll find its corpse in my begonias later on

It has been virtually 24 hours since I have had no tap water. It has gone beyond a joke. Get it sorted United Utilities, you muppets.
I wanted a fecking bath tonight because I have a meeting with a customer tomorrow. Not great trying to clean yourself with wet wipes and using lots of deodorant to mask any smell. Luckily I have short hair so may just get away with not washing my hair for 2 days.

A trip to your local golf/bowling club might have sorted that for you, Malc.

Just about to dive in the shower here, or maybe have a bath. Think I'll have copious glasses of water for breakfast. Then I'll have a very decent shit which requires several flushes.

Just had an important meeting with some scruffy t**t who had a musty old sweaty stale smell which he tried to mask with too much cheap shitty deodorant and had traces of what I presume to be baby wipes in his poorly shaven face.
Scruffy c**t isn't getting any of my money.
